When did your LO take first steps (alone)? My LO is 10 months and doesn't seem close, yet. Lots of pulling up and crusing though!

My LO is 15 months and still refuses to walk alone! Definitely subscribing to this thread. I'm so curious what other people's experiences are. My husband's parents keep telling me that he didn't walk until he was two!

LO started taking steps alone recently. She just turned 11 months, so it was in between 10 and 11. I think the major impetus is because her baby friend in the nanny share is almost 3 months older and is walking. They like to chase after each other. Although my LO will walk a few steps and then drop to her knees because she can move around faster on her knees.

LO stood up on her own the day she turned 10 months, was taking ~5 steps on her own by 10.5, and is now a little walking machine. She'll be 11 months on Saturday.

@KayKay: That's fast!
B started pulling up at 9.5 months old and ever since then he has been taking a step or two and then falls on his bottom. He's fearless though! (Adjusted age 8 months)

@winniebee apparently i stood at 8 months and was walking by 9.5, so we weren't surprised she was on the early side. she still speed crawls when she needs to get somewhere fast, though. some days i miss when i could set her in one spot and she would stay there!!

@KayKay: That's awesome! My mother walked at 10 months, but otherwise I don't think there are any early walkers in my family! He's pretty focused on speed crawling and standing (and, now dancing!)

@winniebee: Hahahaha.. B loves to do that too.. but his dancing is more like deep knee bends...

@littlek: This past weekend he started bobbing his head and swaying like a little Stevie Wonder. Pretty cute.

He would take random steps alone before 10 months. But right after he turned 10 months he just started walking without help one day. Now there is no stopping him and he's trying to run....ugh.(he's 10 1/2 months now)

Liam took three steps unassisted when he was 11 months and one week, but it has been three weeks and he hasn't done it since! I think he's scared of falling

Gah! LO is 9 months and still not even crawling, much less pulling herself up, cruising, or being anywhere close to taking her first steps! She has just started getting up onto all fours (once....this morning) so I think she'll be crawling before long...maybe? Lol, all in due time I'm sure!
