Our ped us usually by a year but sometimes up to two years. My daughter was born with dark blue/gray eyes and they stayed that way for a year and then by 15 months they slowly changed to a hazel/green center with gray borders

@grizz: ours said it could still change up to one year!
Our son's eyes were very light brown and changed to very DARK brown (like mine & dh's eyes) at about 4-5 months, I'd say. He is a year old now, so I don't expect any more changes.

DD still has her baby blues at nine months but I'm trying to not get to attached.
My eyes were blue until three when they turned green. My sisters eyes turned from blue to green at fifteen years.

It's all about melanin. And my understanding is that light exposure triggers melanin production and can continue to affect and change eye color for the first three years. Ellie's eyes were close to their current hazel color at age one, and Lorelei's eyes changed to what they are now (approximately) around 7-8 months.

R is 7 months and have turned more brown but still blue. I hope they stay this way.

Chloe's eye color never changed, and she will be two on Monday!
Is it possible for them to change in the future?

@Mrs. Jump Rope: It's *possible.* I'm pretty sure once melanin production starts up dramatic changes are unusual, though.

LO has blue eyes. Same as DH and I. Blue is a recessive gene so he will always have blue eyes.

DS1 was about 2 when his eyes changed from blue to green/hazel. DS2's eye are still mostly blue at 21 months but some days look green.

DD is 6 months and has the most beautiful blue eyes. I so hope they don't change! I'm not holding my breath though..mine were blue until I was five, and now they're hazel.

Still very blue at 1 year...neither dh or I have blue eyes so it was a surprise that Los have stayed.

When they change is it all at once or in patches? DS still has blue eyes at nearly 10 months (like my DH and mom, so I know there is potential for them to stay that way), but a couple of months ago I noticed one small light brown (almost golden more than brown) patch in the top of his right eye. Is that a sign that they're changing? It's just the one spot.

LO's eyes are *dark* brown and have stayed that way. When I was little my eyes were super dark like hers, now at 32 they are very golden/green with brown just around the rims. DH's are dark brown, so i don't expect LO's to change much.

DS's eyes were dark navy blue when he was born, but lightened up significantly within 2 months. He's almost 3 now and his eyes range from blue to grey, depending on what he is wearing. DH has light blue eyes, I have brown, but I think DS has my mothers eyes, which also changed from blue to grey depending on what she was wearing.

DS's we're dark blue/grey when he was born but by 4 months were dark brown like everyone else in the family

DS's eyes have lightened to a pale blue, but DH has brown eyes and mine are green. My parents and sister have blue eyes, so I'm very curious where he'll end up!

R still has her blue eyes at almost 4 months. I have hazel eyes and DH has brown. My mom has blue eyes though so maybe they'll stay.

Haven't changed yet at 15 months. His dad has blue and I have brown. P has baby blues

I have brown eyes and had them by the time I was 3 konthz, and DH has bluey green eyes.
DDs are really weird. The outer rim is a bluey grey, then a greeny grey, and the centers are a golden brown. I have no idea what they are doing. She is almost 7 months.
