@pachamama: oh man. I hope he starts stretching that out soon! That isn't much rest for you. Does he go right back after he eats?
Ds2 was sleeping through the night for about a week consistently and now he's waking up at 3am again. I agree that sleeping patterns always change, and you can't expect anything based on what they've been doing.

@travellingbee: I don't really know how much to push it, to let baby "work it out" when he wakes. Again, he doesn't cry or even seem very hungry... He goes back to sleep pretty easily. I think he's waking because I sleep next to his bassinet?
My husband does the 8-1am shift (baby wakes twice and is grumpy at this time...) so I do get a nice long stretch of sleep in.
Should I let baby cry a little? He's 9 weeks now....

@pachamama: My baby is 10.5 weeks old so I just went through your stage not long ago. My baby started to sleep longer at night around 6-7 weeks. I remember she slept from 11:30pm - 6/7am. My pediatrician told me not to wake her up as long as she is gaining weight. By week 9 or so, she started to sleep 9 hours and 10 weeks, she started to sleep 10-11 hours. I don't know how long it will last, but the bottom line... I guess babies will eventually start to sleep longer. Hang in there!

@pachamama: I probably wouldn't let him cry much. But definitely if he just fusses and goes back to sleep then yeah I'd let him fuss for a few minutes. I have found mine grunts and makes noises for about an hour before he wakes up to eat. But I don't pick him up to feed him until he's actually awake and crying

@travellingbee: Yes, that's what I've been doing, letting him work it out then when he actually seems hungry, feeding him.

Last night he slept 4 hours for the first time!
