Mine has always wanted company when peeing, and has almost always preferred privacy when pooping. Now that he's a couple months past his third birthday, if he's just peeing he doesn't need help at all to go to the bathroom so he'll just do the whole thing by himself if he needs to go. It's AWESOME.

Just a few weeks after we potty trained. Now I sometimes get "mama close the door!"

Haha. I went with her just to make sure she was wiping correctly. I stopped doing that after a few months? Except for poop. I still check that.

Just recently... so a little after 3 years old she started going on her own without telling me she had to go potty. And then she'll say, "don't come mama! I want to go by myself. I can do it."

A bit after 3 if we told him he could go did he no longer insist we join him.
