I usually just stick to board books for LO, but we do have some paper books that I keep up high in her room. I will sometimes read her the paperback books but it got me curious, when do LO's usually stop looking at board books as much? Once they get out of the toddler age?

Probably as long as their younger siblings read board books!
We also have regular books but the short books are perfect right now.

LO is 3 and his board books are still in circulation, just not as often, and I haven't bought any new ones. He'll even pick them up and flip through them himself sometimes. Nostalgia, maybe?
In any event, I feel like they still have a function in our collection.

At 16 months J is still going strong on reading his board books (with us and alone) but he also has a good amount of paper books that we have read to him since birth. He's ok with them when supervised but has ruined a few pages if I'm not paying 100% attention.
