because it's been so cold in MI, we haven't really had a chance to baby wear outside-- i've used the moby around the house, and used the ergo for the first time last wknd while running errands (and only because the strollerl was in DH's car).
where and how often do you baby wear? does weather matter?

I wear in stores, at church, at home. I try to keep a carrier with me at all times... You never know when they might need a snuggle!

I baby wear whenever LO is being fussy (ie:refuses to let me out him down) , for walks, running errands, and sometimes when we are visiting friends and I don't want him getting into everything. He loves to be worn!

All the time. When Lowly was an infant she spent pretty much the whole day in there, minus when I was just regular holding her, which was rare. Even naps. Now we do lots still, running errands, outside, you name it. We were just outside today walking some CRP (grassland) by our house and flushing some pheasants and looking for beeswax. I've worn her sledding, and when it has been as cold as about 0 degrees F w/o windchill. Today was a balmy 32 F. We're just careful about how we dress, but it works just fine. Great way to get outside with a little one!

Just bought an ergo because LO hates the k'tan. I've only worn him at home but plan to wear him at the farmers market because its so crowded. Dealing with the stroller there is a pain!

While running errands mostly. If we are out and about outside DH will wear DS because he can zip his coat around both of them.

Running errands, always at the grocery store where i'd need a cart. When it's been really cold I put her in the carrier in the car when we get to the store so I don't have to have her outside while we're getting set up.

Now that DS is so big, I usually only wear him during walks or when running errands. Before about 9 months, though, I wore him at home a lot, too. Weather isn't a factor.

All the time lately. I find it's easier to keep us both snuggly warm when she's in the ergo, and lately if we're in a store for long (I'm looking at you Costco!) and she gets tired of being in the cart, I put her in her sling on my hip.

dh really likes to baby wear so he'll put him in the bjorn shopping, or if we walk to go out to dinner or something, and random other occassions.

We live in cold Toronto and wear her every day. I use the ergo with the insert as well as a jolly jumper winter cover that goes around my neck, under her feet and around her, which is fur lined and has a hood. I honestly think it makes her the warmest person around, she feels super toasty when I lift her out of it, mainly because she's got my body heat too and we've used it all winter. I think she's actually be colder in the stroller because being worn protects her from the wind.

we rarely use the stroller even on the coldest of days.
if it is especially cold i will put fitted cotton jammies and socks under a fleece sleeper + hat and coat. i pop him in the ergo and then bundle myself over the baby carrier - usually just my ski coat.

the ergobaby is my favorite now, but i started with a ring sling and i still love it.

Usually while out shopping or on quick excursions. Also anywhere where he will really enjoy the scenery out front (we front wear) like the acquarium.
He gets easily bored with home waering.

I loved the k'tan when L was a newborn! I could wear her outside in the Chicago winter and just zip my down coat up over her! When she graduated to the "hug" hold, I could just put a hat and boots on her and our body heat kept her warmer than the stroller and bundle me.

I wear DS when we go on walks and when I don't have the stroller because we leave it in our trunk and DH uses the car on the weekdays. I like to baby wear in crowded places where a stroller would be too cumbersome to navigate.

Depends on my mood! Sometimes for errands where I don't want to deal with the stroller. I only won't babywear if its windy, because my chest gets cold.

I babywear usually when I'm by myself with LO. The pram doesn't fit in my car so when we're out its either carry her or babywear. Unfortunately due to a previous neck/back injury I can't babywear for long periods of time.

In the cold weather, I would bundle both of us up and make sure we're extra toasty. It would be a lifesaver when we're out during his nap time.

Just started wearing her, and she really likes it! I wore her out shopping at the outlets after she got sick of being in her stroller. I also wore her around the house for a bit, while I was cleaning & she wanted to be held. It's still easier for me to keep her in the stroller, but I'm going to keep it with me from now on just in case she gets fussy!

I wear him when we're at places like the zoo and he needs a nap. He naps much better in the Ergo than he does in the stroller. We also always wear him at Costco for the same reason- nap time! When he's awake he wants to be able to see everything.

Weather didn't matter to me, although I live in Oregon where it rarely gets very cold. I babywore exclusively until 7 months, and I really preferred it for the colder months - she was close to me and all snuggled up and warm. I felt very uncomfortable switching to a stroller, and that was when it was already warm. I would not put a small baby in a stroller, honestly. Babywearing is a great way to keep a baby warm!

I used to put her in the Ergo pretty often (almost every time we went out), but it's easy to do in SoCal where the avg. temp. is 70!
I wore her a lot because to me, it was easier than pulling out the infant car seat, and she often slept on me which was nice.

Everywhere - LO hates the stroller and isn't walking yet so I either carry or wear her in the Ergo everywhere we go. Lately I've been carrying her more b/c she doesn't like facing in.

So far mostly is at home because we haven't gone out much. I've worn her in the Baby K'tan strolling around an outdoor mall and to dinner once. Also wore her in the Ergo (with infant insert) for a walk around the park. Planning to use both for travels in the summer but I can already tell heat will be an issue as I got hot wearing both outdoors really quick and it was only March!
I always need to have one carrier on hand though in case she gets fussy.

Like @TRAVELGIRL1, I live in Toronto and wear baby everywhere regardless of weather. I find it easier to get around, especially when hopping on and off public transportation. Wearing baby makes us both toasty warm and if LO falls asleep, he ends up sweating!

@emahlee: Do you find nosy people are constantly telling you that LO must be too cold/too hot? This drives me INSANE! I wonder if it's just Toronto people : )
