I am really excited about Christmas this year! Since it will be LO's first Christmas and our first Christmas in our new house.. Sadly, I am usually a scrooge, and we don't even own a tree, need to get one soon! When do you put yours up???

Usually after thanksgiving... We have a tiny little fake tree though haha it's pretty sad looking. But we can't have a real one in the apt Maybe we'll get a small real one and keep it on our porch lol!!

The weekend right before or after Thanksgiving. Probably before this year cause we got a new tree along with a whole new set of ornaments on clearance after Xmas that I'm psyched to put up!

I try to wait until after December 6th, that's when we celebrate "Sinterklaas" here in Belgium (also an old guy with a beard who brings presents for children) and as kids we were always told Santa doesn't come until Sinterklaas is gone! So, to answer your question, probably the second week of December.

Around December 1st. I love putting up the tree!

Saturday after Thanksgiving! It's my MIL's tradition and I love it. Now it's ours too and we go with his mom and her fiancee to cut them down.

Saturday after Thanksgiving for me too! I love having a Christmas tree and wreath so I want to maximize the number of days I can have them up

Probably the weekend after Thanksgiving, but if not then the following weekend. I always like to have it up by my birthday (12/5).

I wasn't so excited, but now I can't wait to decorate! Since no one really decorates for Halloween here, I feel like I missed out so I've already told DH he can't stop me If it were up to him, we'd have the tree up a day before Christmas. I'm thinking by Dec 1st, it's open game. But I intend to put up lights in Nov.

We have a mini fake pottery barn potted tree. It's currently out since we didn't want to put it away when we moved in.
Every year we add one mini hallmark ornament to it. So far it has 3.. Gonna go to hallmark after halloween to get our 2012 ornament. This Christmas will be our 4th Christmas together.

I usually do it the second weekend in December I always delay putting it up because i HATE taking it down. with a baby this year though, we will probably put it up earlier. I love the idea of a tradition "date" so maybe we can start that!

DH is allergic to real trees so we have a fake, so put it up as soon as we can. I would do it the day after Thanksgiving but we are out of town visiting his family. So we usually leave early on Sunday, of Thanksgiving weekend., so we have time to get the tree up before work on Monday. I want it up ASAP since Christmas season is so short, I want to enjoy it as much as we can.

I usually take my time putting it up....doing it through Advent. HOwever, this year, I think I'm putting it up in December. At this point, we thought we would have a 5 month old at Christmas, so it will be bittersweet. I think that a beautifully decorated house will be nice!

When I was living at my parents, the rule was that it didn't go up until after Dad's birthday (10th of December); now that we have our own home, it goes up the first weekend of December!

We always get a real tree and usually buy it two weeks before Christmas. We don't like I to be too dead and dry by Christmas. We take it down around January first because our trash company picks them up for free the first collect day of the year.

We host Thanksgiving every day and DH always wants the tree up when everyone comes over. So, ours is up before Thanksgiving usually...

We decorate the house the first weekend of December but we get a live tree so it doesn't go up until the 2nd or 3rd year. This will be the first Christmas in our house! I'm excited.

We'll put in up some time after Thanksgiving. LO will be here right before Christmas, so we're just going with our small artificial tree.

If I'm home, I put it up the weekend of Thankgiving. If not, I put it up as soon as I get home and have a few hours to spare.

The weekend after Thanksgiving! I want a whole month of Christamsness in my house

Usually in December. We cut ours fresh, so it works out better if we don't put the tree up too early. This year we'll probably get one earlier to make sure the tree beats the baby!

We usually do it the wknd after Thanskgiving, but since I'm due right around then - I think I'm going to start doing Christmas decor throughout the early weeks of November while I'm working from home to get it done!

@mrsvdv: We have this old weird Santa my in-laws gave us. After reading your post, I googled "Sinterklaas" and sure enough, that's what he is (pope hat and all!)! My in-laws lived in Germany while DS was a baby, so they must have picked it up then (on their travels through Europe). It's good to know who this guy is, though!
Usually we go cut down our tree the day after Thanksgiving, but this year we'll be at my parents house for Thanksgiving, so I guess we'll wait until the weekend after to get our tree and decorate.
