I always thought I was crazy for starting my shopping list at the end of the Summer, until I found out that one of my aunt's starts her holiday shopping boxing day of last year for this year!
I've already starting trying to figure out what to get for people - Chanukah is super early this year for my side, and DH will deal with Christmas gifts for his side. Budgets, budgets, budgets!
When do you start shopping/making a list? How early is too early?

I've already started making a list and making my inlaws gifts. I have to start early to get them done cause I'm a fan of procrastinating. I want to decorate like now for Christmas though!

The day after thanksgiving.
But not this year.....I'm due on thanksgiving day! Maybe we will pull a "Christmas with the Kranks" and boycott the holidays this year!

I am also finding it harder and harder to get something for people...people who have everything (parents), kids that get everything from their grandparents (niece/nephews). So difficult to figure out! Then there are the people at work that I like to give *something* to, and I always go way overboard, which isn't good.

Last year we started a few days after Christmas and was finished by October. This year we haven't started expect for determining how many presents per person/family.

I am usually a last minute shopper but I am due 2 weeks after christmas so I want to get it done ASAP. I am hoping online shopping will pull through for me.

I usually don't shop until December, but since I'll be home on mat leave I will probably start in November this year!

I have to get my butt in gear this year because we'll be abroad for both my son's birthday and christmas, so we need to have everything sorted well before November begins.

I don't get how people start Christmas shopping the year.before. what if that person changes their mind about something? Or they get the same thing throughout the year?
I can't worry about Christmas till December bc we have 8 birthdays in November!

We will set a budget soon for Hanukkah and Christmas gifts and then I'll start shopping. LO will be six months old on Christmas so she should be the easiest to shop for. My sisters, DH and I are chipping in to help send my parents away next summer for both their Christmas and anniversary gifts so they're done already!

I recently started a mini stash of Christmas presents in my closet. I put a reminder in my calendar for December so I don't forget that it's there!

I pick up things I find throughout the year. I'll get serious and take inventory of what I already have around Thanksgiving.

@babycanuck: I do year round, sometimes even before this year's Christmas I'll put away for next if I've already hit my budget for that person I keep a google list for ideas & what i've purchased so I don't lose track.

Sometime in November. I usually give a gift receipt so it can't be past the return period!

Normally I get everything that had to be sent away in November and the rest in December.
This year I started today. Found some awesome things for DS's stocking. Being on mat leave this year I'm going to start earlier as I'll have to spread out the spending.

Our Christmas Savings account deposits in midOctober. But this year I bought a huge chunk of presents on Zulily last month. This the first time I have started this early.
