LO is 17 months now. We never used a pacifier, but he has grown to love his burp cloth since he was 4 months old. It has become his blankie, we still let him go to sleep with it. 2 months ago our daycare teacher told us that we can (should) start to lose it. In fact they no longer offer the blankie to him for his naptime. However when he's at home, I still let him have his blankie at nap time. I don't have the guts to take away from him as I am afraid he would continue to cry and won't go to sleep, or wake up and won't be able to go back to sleep! We don't give it to him during awake time though. If he did see his blankie, he would throw a fit if he doesn't get it!

I do see quite a few kids older than him who would still have a pacifier in their mouths, even in public. So I wonder, when do you take away your LO's binky or blankie? And when do you think is a good time to remove it from them for good?
