We've been living in our house almost 3 years (come august) and the google street view is still the one of the old owners with the "for sale" sign.
I wondered if anyone knew when they update their street view?

I don't know but it is the same thing with my street view so I don't think they update it very much. Or maybe there is just so much to update that it is a sloooooow process?

Haha. I have no idea. I can't imagine how much time it must take for them to take photos of evverrrry street...

I don't know, but the worst is when you are going somewhere that is a newer build and you go to look at street view and it is an empty lot.

I don't know how frequent it is done, but our address shows a super scary picture! Our building was an old condemned mess when it was bought, gutted, and made into 6 fairly nice condos, one of which we rent.
We moved in almost 3 years ago & construction had been done for almost a year, so it can't be very often that they update! I saw the google camera vehicle driving around not long ago, so maybe it's better now. Driving every street must take a loooong time though

I googled this, the consensus said every few years, mostly saying it was slow and not often enough.
The photo of our house is about 2 years old. Never seen a google camera vehicle, that is pretty cool!

Hmm we moved in last July and I can see all of our vehicles in the driveway. Same goes for our prior home thatcwe lived in for a year.

No sure, but we've owned our house for 3 years now and it's updated, but don't know when it happened.

We don't even have street view, just satellite view and I have no idea when they'll update. A lot has changed with our house and the playground nearby since then.

@lemondrop: I drove by one once and waved at the camera - I even said that we should remember where it was so I could check the map later, but then I forgot where - oops!

No sure, ours is still pre-us owning the house since it doesn't have the landscaping in! That would be 2 years this weekend!

I can't find anything that indicates what their schedule is, if any. Their aerial views are updated more often, especially since satellites offering an increased temporal resolution are more common. Blah blah, map geek speak.

@jessiejo17: Ya I can't wait for it to update! I don't know if you've done work with the exterior of the house, but we redid all the landscaping, roof and painted the door etc.
I took a screen shot before, and can't wait for the after!
