Our daughter is 2.5, and although she shows interest in the potty and is in pull-ups exclusively now, she's not consistent in being willing to use the potty or in telling us she needs to pee, and we're not consistent in asking her if she needs to use it either.
My husband is convinced that she's behind in her training and that we are bad parents for not pushing her sooner, but he's not basing this thought on any other kids we know!
So, is she behind, or still in the average range? She'll be 3 in February.
She has been cloth-diapered since birth, read a slew of toilet and toilet-related books, joined every single person in our family in the bathroom at one point or another to see proof that people can use the toilet as something other than a step-stool or launch-pad... no dice. But she will get there. Someday. Hopefully your daughter will be ready soon. If she's excited about the prospect of preschool, it might be some added fun motivation! We have a feeling Lorelei might miss out on at least the first session of preschool because they require underwear, but we have a while to worry about that since Lorelei would be 3.5.
