I didn't have an ideal time. The only thing that I ever thought about was "avoiding" a Christmas time baby, just because one of my coworkers (close friend) hated being a Christmastime baby. But I wouldn't have skipped trying either.

We have a Nov baby and a baby due in July! Opposite seasons! I am looking forward to experiencing nb days during the warmer months!

If we were going to have another I would absolutely aim for April/May.

May probably--I'm in grad school so taking the summer off after LO was born in April was amazing, I was able to take over 5 months off. I wasn't teaching that spring semester though, so it didn't matter that she was born before the end of the semester. Next baby I probably will be, which is why May would be better--finish off the semester's grading and then go on mat leave for the summer!

Spring! Our LO came at the perfect time in April because my maternity leave ended at the end of June when DH was getting off for summer break! Five months of exclusive parent and baby time.

Also, pregnancy made me super hot so winter was more bearable to me but summer would have been atrocious.

It’s definitely much more advantageous for us to have a late May/early June baby, because my husband is home all summer (well, with minimal meetings to attend and such, but basically off work all summer). We totally lucked out and LO was born 2 days after he finished teaching for spring semester, so we were home together my entire maternity leave. If we decide to have another (which is extremely unlikely), we would definitely try to time it that way again.

Looking back, it would have been awesome to be on maternity leave in the warmer months, so I would have chosen that.

I have a son with a December birthday, the way I look at it that there's always someone in school that is the oldest and someone that is the youngest. As for the hubub of the holidays, it is what you make or don't make of it!

Spring

We have 2 April babies and I wouldn't change a thing.

My ideal time would have been early mid-May. I would have gotten 6 weeks disability to take me through to the end of the school year, and then 12 weeks NJFLA when school starts back in September, giving me the max time home with the baby. =(

Too bad that didn't work out!

Spring. So I have a solid 3 months off before my summer busy season and I'm not too big in the fall. Babe #1 is due in less than a month. I think we will aim for the same next time.

February/March. We have a December and a January and by the time spring arrives I have major cabin fever. I don't mind spending winter inside hibernating with a newborn, but I'd hate to miss spring and summer.

I used to want fall babies because DH and I both have October birthdays and always liked that. However, after having May babies I've changed my tune! I loved having little ones in the summer when I could take them out and not have to worry about cold and flu season, bundling them up, etc. Plus, I've dealt with seasonal depression and I don't think I would have dealt well with the post partum hormones right at the change of seasons.

I am super glad for our about to be babies timing. It has worked out perfectly so my maternity leave goes through our spring season, I can bring the baby to work/work flexible hours through the summer (plus lots of time off) and wont need to find a babysitter until September. It was all just luck.

I have to say, ice on the sidewalks and trying to wear lots of warm clothing has been pretty terrible. Sandals and sundresses sound really really nice right now. I can hardly reach my feet to lace my boots.

I have May and September babies and would choose fall or early winter. Having a spring or summer baby is hard because you are adjusting while the weather is nice and it feels like you are missing out on so much! Plus an older infant makes winter difficult especially when you have a toddler that wants to play in the snow all the time. I think September is perfect for birthdays because the weather is usually still nice for outdoor parties plus it is the school cut off so we get an extra year with our lo before he starts school, and extra time to save for college.

After my m/c I didn't care! I have one winter baby and one summer baby. I think both have their advantages.

I am glad LO will be almost 6 when she starts kindergarten. Public school scares me a little - no rest/nap time, recess is only 20 minutes, it is so structured and the expectations are so high. I would not want her going into that environment as a just-turned 5 year old, even with the added childcare costs, but maybe I just can't imagine her never being a little baby.

If we have more, I would like to have the next one in early spring if we could swing it. That way we aren't cooped up with a newborn all winter, but the seasons aren't completely opposite from my October LO so we can use hand-me-downs (assuming we have another girl). Also, DH works in education and summers are less busy so that would be good for us.

March would be ideal for us... I could be on maternity leave until my mom was off for the summer (she's a teacher). With LO1, we were a bit late - end of May. And for the next one, I'm not sure I'm willing to wait to try just to have a spring 2016 baby.

Spring!! The twins were born in March and there was so much less stress about flu, RSV, etc. and it gives them lots of months and a good chunk of vaccinations before the next winter.

With this pregnancy I had no timing in mind. When it comes around to when we want our second child I would prefer a spring baby May/June. The weather would be nicer for outdoor birthday parties. Plus it would fall during the school year, and would be able to celebrate it with his/her classmates.
