We move January 2, so it'll probably just go whenever it is convenient after Christmas. Traditionally my family always did the 1st, so if moving weren't a factor, is probably lean that way.

We always leave it up through the 6th of January and then take it down immediately thereafter.
This year, we're out of town until the 16th of Jan so it's staying up until then We're going to be 'those people' but I didn't want to take it down before we left (yesterday). Ah well!

It'll be taken down on the 26th. We're having a Bday party for DS on 12/27 so I like to take the Christmas stuff down and separate the holiday from his birthday. Also, we need the space! That tree takes up a ton of room in our living room.

Probably 1/1 or 1/2. It's losing needles so I want it out sooner than I normally would.

@LovelyPlum: I think for a lot of people, the time leading up to Christmas is part of Christmas. Going to parties and baking the cookies and putting up the tree and getting Santa pics is all part of Christmas. So for them, the 25th is the last day of Christmas. To me, December is all about preparing for Christmas (which to me is from Dec 24-Jan 6). And that's why my tree stays up longer.

Never! We got a live planted tree! I hope to care for it all through the year, year after year.

@Grace: I think you are exactly right, buT said it much better than I ever could. I need December/Advent to get ready both mentally and materially, so while I consider it part of the holiday season, I appreciate that Christmas doesn't start until Christmas Eve! Advent was painful as a kiddo, waiting for the big day, but I absolutely appreciate it as an adult!!

Day or 2 after Christmas. It's taking up too much room and M is getting some big toys that can use the space.
