For something inexpensive that doesn't replicate what you already have, the boppy newborn lounger would be perfect! In addition to that, I used a swing (mamaroo), pack n play, his bassinet, a carrier (we had a Beco gemini), or a bouncy seat (just a cheapo Fisher-Price one).

Rock n play, mamaroo, pack n play, boppy or sit-me-up chair (when they could support their head).

Oh, we have two dogs so they have to be enclosed (or out of reach) or else they'll get doggy kisses.

Rnp, or I had a huuuuge ottoman, so she was just in there on a blanket too.

Swing, bouncer, and either a blanket or an activity mat on the floor. Once she was 8 weeks old and her neck was stronger we got DD a fisher price chair. She preferred to be upright.

When he is awake he goes in the swing, naptime is in thre bouncer, when he sleeps for the night he goes in the RnP. We also have a Pack n Play in the living room and he sometimes gets put down on there, or is transferred there for a nap, or does tummy time there.

I like to keep his sleeping and awake places separate.

The rock 'n play was amazing. DD would hang out, nap, and sleep in it at night happily. Go buy one today!

Rock n Play or the swing for the most part

As a newborn she was in the bassinet when sleeping or the bouncy chair when awake. The bassinet got hauled downstairs for day and put near a window. Even though she was sleeping I felt like the natural light would help her learn day from night. Once she was a couple months we started using the swing when sleeping and when awake was either the bouncy chair or my nursing pillow so she could sit up and see the world.

We had a pack n play with newborn napper, which she slept great in. We also had a mamaroo, which she likes more now at 7 months than she ever did as a newborn. We got a lot of use out of our ikea playmat. But honestly, she spent most of her non-nursing time in a carrier (ring sling, moby, mei tai) or our laps.

With my first it was the bouncy seat or the swing. Now, with my second, I'm going to have him in a carrier most of the time so I can keep up with my toddler!

We get by with lots of baby wearing. We have a Moby wrap and Boba carrier. She started liking the bouncy seat around a month. We also do blanket/floor gym for playtime. She will sometimes nap in her co-sleeper.
