It annoys me more when someone asks for advice, but when you try giving some they just fight you about how it's not going to work for whatever reason. Seriously, why did you even ask then?

I do this with my husband, sometimes...sometimes I just need to hear someone else's opinion to solidify my own decision.

I feel like it's an opinion not a command, but it does irk me. I think the worst is they already have their mind made up, you disagree and they fight you on it, then WHY ASK! I'm not going to agree with you just to agree if you ask fro an honest opinion. My BFF doesthis, and then it never fails "man I should have done it the other way"

My husband does this to me all the time, usually about his outfit. "What do you think about this shirt with these pants?" "I think you look nice!" "....I think I'm going to change." I don't know why I bother answering.

Haha, I do this about items on a menu! I ask the waiter, "would you recommend item A or B?" "Item B is my personal fav..." "you know what? I'll go with item C. " It drives my husband batty

Sometimes I think people don't realize what they really want until someone tells them to do the opposite and they are like nooooo. In which case that person WAS actually helpful in making up the person's mind, just not in the way they'd hoped.
