I'm thinking about going off BC the end of this month. When should I start temping? First day of my period? Last day of my period? First day post-period?

I would start temping on the first day of your cycle which is the day you get your period. Take your temp at the same time every morning - before you get out of bed. Are you using an app or chart for charting it?

Thanks @mediagirl! I was thinking of charting on paper for the first few months because my phone and computer are through work and I don't want the personal info on there. Once DH and I are ready to start TTC, I may go digital so that I can upgrade and get all of the "alerts". For now, I just want to see if my cycle regulates.

TJ - you should check out Fertility Friend (you can do online or on your phone). You can print the charts online and it's super helpful. We've been TTC for 14 months and I started charting 4 months ago and was so glad that I did. We're seeing some specialists now and the information has been super helpful! Good Luck!

I just went off the pill, too. I started temping during the last week of my "active" pills just to get the hang of it. I also figured it might give me a sense of what my temps might be during my luteal/progesterone phase of my cycle, which it did. I got to watch my temps fall as the progesterone from the pill went out of my system, which was kinda fun to see -- but I'm kind of a dork like that. I was also the most exciting thing about charting so far because I still have yet to ovulate . . .
