If you're sitting by the aisle or by the window and I'm in the middle, you don't get both armrests. Not fair.

Also, just because you can't see the person behind you, doesn't mean they can't smell you when you decide to pass gas. Gross.

I had a very very bad experience once and it all revolves around rude, inconsiderate people. I was traveling with my grandmother who is in her 80's people. We were on SW, so it was pick your own seat. Well I got on and picked a seat, unfortunately for some odd reason my gram was in the next batch of boarders. She was on the plane and I could see her, like she was 5-6 rows up just waiting to get by people to get to me so she could sit by me.. well sure enough some mid 40's man sat by me, I politely asked if he minded moving across the aisle b/c my gram (see right there-->) was coming and we'd like to sit by each other. He looked at me, didn't say anything and sat down. The flight attendant then came over and told me "no saving seats".... ughh, I almost got kicked off the plane, for real.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Some airlines don't pre-board people with young children anymore. I think we were on United and another family with two young kids assumed they could board and the gate person wouldn't let them on the plane! I couldn't believe it. I thought the dad was going to reach out a strangle the gate guy!

Oh, and also when ppl's music is so loud even through their headphones! It's like they're trying to get you to hear the "super awesome cool" music they are listening to. Ugh, no thanks buddy.

@bluestriped bee: Haha yep! DH uses that move too! Gotta love those DH's that watch out for us and all the other "less important" people on the plane ha!

I don't like when I'm on the aisle and someone in the middle or window gets up to use the restroom like half an hour into the flight. Dude, just go right before you board!

Oh, I'll definitely add people who let their kids run up and down the aisle. The airplane is not a playground people! How do people think this is ok?

I have sooo many pet peeves, but DH and I both travel frequently for work, as well as for personal travel, so I think I've seen them all. My biggest ones are:

- trying to board before your row/zone (I love it when the flight attendent turns them away!).
- congregating in front of the desk/lines and getting in the way of people trying to board their proper row/zone.
- people who roll their suitcases behind them down the aisles (pick it up people, and if it's too heavy, it should be checked!).
- women who can't lift their luggage up ahead (agree wij above post).
- people trying to take more than their alloted amount of carry-on.
- people trying to fit something that obviously won't go into the overhead storage and trying to slam the door closed.
- people putting their luggage in the first avail bin, instead of where their seat is.
- people who have no idea what needs to come off or out at security.

Basically, most people piss me off when traveling. But it's because it seems like so many people are either ignorant, clueless or inconsiderate.

People who don't have their sh*t together when going through security. "I can't bring a full size bottle of shampoo? GASP! You want me to do WHAT?! Take my belt off??"

Just don't kick my seat please, or let your kid. I know kids get antsy, but I appreciate when their parents try to get them to stop instead of just letting them do it.

@Torchwood: Ha, yeah, definitely don't dehydrate yourself. She just asked about pet peeves and that's one of mine. I try to sit by the window so that people getting up doesn't bother me (I like to sleep on planes).

The people that run up from the back of the plane before the door opens drive me nuts. Like you are the only person that wants to get off the plane.

On Southwest I will take a middle seat at the front of the plane over an aisle/window at the back. I want to get off the plane and have a chance at seeing my kid before she goes to sleep. If you want a chance to have an empty seat next to you don't sit in the first few rows. Most of the time the flight is completely booked anyway. That hardcore eyeroll and deep sign are totally unnecessary.

@ineebee: I'm surprised no one has mentioned reclining either! I am in favor of reclining; I have a lot of back issues and the pitch of the seat reclined is far more comfortable for me, especially for long flights. I expect that the person in front of me will recline also.

Maybe I'm antisocial but my main pet peeve is seatmates who just want to talk. I travel solo a lot and actually look forward to flights as uninterrupted reading time, and the last thing I want is to get stuck making small talk with some stranger for an indeterminate period of time.

Also maybe this is a fluke but I have been on more than one flight where someone near me painted their nails mid-flight. Come on!

I hate when people who sit in the middle / back of the plane put their bags in the front bins instead of the bins by their seat. DH and I always sit near the front because of his status (he travels for work weekly), and frequently I have to put our bag way behind us because people from the back of the plane used our bins instead of theirs.
