C is almost 10 weeks old and we've never taken him to a restaurant. Which means DH and I haven't been out to eat in almost 3 months! Since he got his two month shots yesterday, we're feeling brave enough to go out in public more often. (Especially since we're doing pretty well with breastfeeding; I think I could swing it in a restaurant under a cover). We are going out to eat tonight! Woohoo!
When did you first go out to eat with your LO?

We took LO to a restaurant for his red egg and ginger party around 1 month. He typically fussed around the time we ate but he actually did really well! Maybe because Chinese restaurants are so noisy?
I say go for it! Take your LO out to a restaurant.

I think he was like 3 days old we took him to Panera bread after his ped appt. we stuck with quick places like that for awhile.

C was about a week old the first time- but we sat outside at a casual restaurant. She slept in her carseat the entire time. We also went and again, sat outside on an uncrowned patio, when she was three weeks, and she was really cranky and I ended up nursing her under a cover the entire time (comfort nursing, obviously). Then last night, one month, we ate outside while she slept in the moby. I ate a burger over her head! So C gets around! I don't feel comfortable eating inside a crowded restaurant both for germs and for crying/ fussing risk.

lol, a week
We pretty much live our normal lives, only we go home earlier. We figured if he was used to our routine from early on, them we could keep up with some of our usual favorite things like eating out.

Chloe was about two months old.. I remember Christmas decorations being up & her loving all the lights on the trees inside!
She slept through most of our meal & only fussed a bit toward the end. I walked with her & showed her the lights and it calmed her down. Really easy and fun!

We took her out to Mother's Day brunch when she was 3 weeks old! She slept the whole time. When we took her out recently, at 17 weeks or so it totally sucked and we won't be going again anytime soon lol.

About a week. I go stir crazy so we go out pretty frequently. He usually sleeps, but if he gets fussy I just throw him on the boob while I eat.

Three days old? I think we went to sushi. At 5 days old, he went to his first wedding.
Summer babies are the best- you can take them anywhere without stressing about OMG they haven't gotten their shots yet.

Four weeks old. She slept for most of it but then started to fuss so I had to give her a bottle - about 30 seconds before my meal arrived - this kid and her timing.
We went out again a week later and I didn't have a bottle (we hadn't planned on being out long) so I breastfed her under a cover. My first public breastfeed!

Today, at 12 days old! We went out breakfast and I wore him in a wrap. I was glad he slept the whole time because I think nursing in the wrap is still above our skill level.

@chanzi: yes, nursing in a wrap seems complicated! I'd love to master it though bc it would make eating out so easy- for both of us!

We had LO out within the first week. It was so easy to go out to eat when she was teeny; she just chilled in her bucket car seat - either slept or looked around at the new and exciting world

Almost immediately after she came home from the hospital. We love to go out to eat, and it was so easy in those days. Here's a hilarious picture of us all half asleep and unwashed with her when she was three weeks old. I guess we didn't know how to work her cloth diapers then, either? This was also the first time I nursed in public.

3 or 4 weeks to lunch. She slept the whole time. Then the next 2 months every time we tried was a disaster.

Not until he was 4 months I think? Winter baby and not very happy in his carseat kept us home. By then he was more interested and looking around, but we still ate super fast and nervously! Now that he is older he loves going out though.

Umm, 3 days old? It was the day after we came home from the hospital. And we've taken her out to a restaurant a handful of times since then! I always ask for a booth (I find they are more private) and sit facing away from a majority of people in case I have to nurse.

Well, that was a terrible experience, haha. C was a perfect angel, but we had terrible service and I ordered tilapia...which I discovered was undercooked and pink, after I ate half of it

Eh, the day after I was released from the hospital? So when she was three days old? Lol, I know, awful.
But we had to take her to the Ped and we were so far from home and I was so freaking hungry, so we went to Don Pablos and I kept her in the ktan with a blanket draped over so no one could touch her or breathe on her.
