When I was a kid, these manual merry-go-rounds were everywhere!

But now I can't remember the last time I saw a merry-go-round/roundabout! From what I understand, fear of lawsuits caused them to disappear... along with see-saws and "Tarzan ropes." I guess there were too many injuries...
Did you ever go on merry-go-rounds as a kid? When was the last time you saw a merry-go-round/roundabout at a playground?

We had one in our neighborhood playground until last year when they redid it in favor of a gigantic play structure that my kids are too scared to go on!

I loved both merry-go-rounds and seesaws! But the last time I was on a seesaw, I fell off from the top, hard. I haven't seen them in 10+ years probably?
There's a 4 seater teeter totter at a local park but it doesn't go very high.

Aw man, I still remember falling from one when I was 5. I hit my hoo-ha. I can still feel the pain. Owwweeee!!!

Here in the wild west, we've got one at our local playground. I'm kind of glad my kids have this exposure.

Wow, yeah, come to think of it, I haven't seen a merry-go-round lately.
We had something called the Ocean Wave at my grade school. Anyone else? That was a total death trap. BUT SO FUN.

I haven't seen one in the Boston area for years, but here in Iowa, we have them at all of our playgrounds. Those things are so much fun... but so dangerous!

@mrbee: I don't remember ever being on one of these! At one of the playgrounds we go to there's what I guess is a modern version of this.

I was thinking about these lately too--there is an illustration of one in a Richard Scarry book LO loves. LO has never seen one in real life, because all of our playgrounds have been carefully sanitized.

There is one at the playground by my grandparents house. That is the only one I can think of ever seeing though

There's a nice park close by that has one but it's flush to the ground so kids can't fall off and fall under it.

Our neighborhood park has both a merry-go-round and seesaws. I never really thought anything of it until some friends came to visit from out of state and were shocked to see them! I found this article really interesting:
