Mine was today... Bee found us a great dentist and now I go every six months. No cavities but I think my hygienist just went through a breakup or something... she attacked my teeth with a vengeance! I finally said something and she changed her approach so it didn't hurt as much. Until that point, it was the most painful cleaning of my life!

About a month ago! I dont like cleanings but my new dental hygenist was very gentle

My last one was great! I didn't get any lectures from them. I just hate that they always make me chat with them with all the stuff in my mouth during the cleaning.

I go tomorrow....ugh!!! I dread it. I hate the scrape-y plaque-y thing that they use. It makes me want to scream.

I think I went in May.
@Adira: @mrbee: I'm suppose to go every 3-4 months because of my braces. I like my dentist so I don't mind.

@mrbee: I have some unpleasantly deep pockets, so I switch off between my regular dentist (that I see every six months) and a periodontist (that I also see every six months).

I absolutely hate going, but I have terrible enamel so I have to. I finally finished getting all my fillings a few months ago, and it's time to go get everything cleaned!
I've also read that poor gum health/gingivitis can cause miscarriage, so I've gotten obsessive about flossing, which I never used to do. That's probably going to save me some fillings in the future!

@mrbee: if there's no scary stuff involved! I've been going to the same dentist since I was 4. This time, all the hygienists were oohing and ahhing over the baby bump 
I hate hate hate my mouth being numb, so fillings aren't my favorite, but thankfully, I haven't had one of those in awhile!

Yikes, having a bad experience at the dentist is the worst. I once had a hygienist floss me so quickly and abruptly that I was in such pain with so much bleeding. Now everytime I go to a new dentist (like when I move) I always state right away, "Be gentle when you floss. Please."
This reminds me, I need to call my dentist. I think my last appointment was in January or maybe February. So I'm due for my 6 month cleaning.

@mrbee: Mine usually does the scraper thing, then the polisher/brusher thing, and finishes with a flossing. You should go back and demand a flossing - or maybe just do it yourself

Last visit was in March...but before that it had been a good 5 years. Gross, I know! Somehow I lucked out with having no cavities. One of my goals for this year was to get back on track with scheduling regular appointments for myself.
