We installed the car seat at 38 weeks and I think that was the last thing we needed to do.

Yes. We were beyond prepared. I would say the only absolute essentials are car seat, diapers/wipes, sleepers, and a bassinet. They don't need a lot when they first arrive : )

I had my shower the day before I turned 34 weeks and later that week I bought the last few things I felt like I needed. Since then, I've felt ready.

Other than the hospital bag, we were ready a few weeks before LO arrived. The bag, though, was only complete about two minutes before we left our apartment to cab to the hospital!
