Now that Halloween is past us, let's get serious. When are you decorating for the holidays? DS1 asked this morning how many days until Christmas! I'm thinking I'll set out Thanksgiving type stuff next weekend and then will have to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas.

I always wait until the day after thanksgiving.

Since we will be gone Thanksgiving weekend, we will probably do the tree the night before Thanksgiving. I am due early Jan, so I told DH that all I would do this year is the tree, stockings, and LO's advent calendar. I know I won't be in the mood to take it all down at 38+ weeks pregnant. But it makes me sad to not fully decorate.

We don't have any Thanksgiving décor, so there's nothing stopping me from putting up our Christmas stuff....but I think we will wait until the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

We'll probably try to get a tree on Thanksgiving weekend and decorate then, as long as LO2 (due early Dec) hasn't made an early arrival.

I put up generic fall type decorations at the beginning of October that are appropriate for Halloween and Thanksgiving (an orange/ brown banner, some non-spooky pumpkin stuff, orange taper candles, etc). I'll decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving probably since we are hosting dinner (or maybe after dinner on Thursday because I looooooove Christmas and I want to put the stuff up ASAP haha).

We are going out of town for Thanksgiving so I think I will decorate for Christmas the weekend before Thanksgiving. My Fall stuff is out already.

This is our first year in our new house, and it's been a crazy month with sickness. Now, I need a root canal too. 'My in-laws are coming up for thanksgiving, and I'm way too busy decorate for thanksgiving and Christmas! So, I'm only decorating for Christmas his year, and I'm excited to go all out. I was already talking about putting some stuff up next week lol.

I typically set up Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving, but with baby #2 due the first week of December I am going to decorate early this year. Probably will have everything up by mid-november.
I don't mind... it's my favorite holiday!

As soon as I can! I love decorating for Christmas. I mostly do the inside of the house, DH will put the lights up outside on Thanksgiving weekend. We will cut down our tree that weekend too. My due date is around Christmas so I want to get everything done as soon as I can.

Dh is ready to start decorating now. When we moved into our house a few weeks ago, he refused to move boxes of decorations upstairs since we'd be using them so soon.

The Santa Claus parade is the second Sunday in November, I usually put up the tree then. Lights I'll do hopefully this weekend if the weather is nice.

We're going to put up some Thanksgiving stuff this weekend but Christmas doesn't go up til Dec 1.

We usually do it Black Friday! We leave work early, go pick our tree, and go nuts decorating! We let Thanksgiving have it's moment. It's like the "red-headed stepchild" for some. Poor holiday!

Definitely no Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving. I put away the Halloween stuff this morning, but left out anything that was generic fall (a handful of gourds, etc). I'm also going to pick up a banner for our mantle and a table runner -- Target had some cute Thanksgiving-ish things, I think!

The fall stuff has been out and will stay until Thanksgiving. We will wait until after Thanksgiving for Christmas. That's what we generally do anyway. It's hard to know what to plan for with my DH's new job and since we usually cut our own tree down, it would nice to have him here

I usually put up decorations the first weekend of December. We get our tres the 2nd weekend. My plan for tomorrow is to put away all the Halloween stuff.

We get home the Saturday after thanksgiving from seeing family out of state so maybe that Sunday? Figured a tree wasn't in the cards this year with a very active one year old who would likely eat it or destroy it
But we will do the mantle, front door, stockings, etc.!

I usually make myself wait until the day after Thanksgiving, but we're booked that whole weekend. I might cheat and do it a couple days before.

@wrkbrk: At one, we really didn't have to worry about the tree. It was when she was two that I seriously worried about it. We put felt ornaments at the bottom of the tree that she could touch and it ended up being okay.
