I bought one of those hanging tent things (from Ikea) even before LO was born, but haven't put it up yet. I know it depends on personality, but just for fun:
At what age would your LO be to have one of those hanging up without having to worry about it being pulled down and having part of the roof fall down on them?

I would now, yes. My son was obessed with playing hide and seek in the curtains before, so I could see this being ripped down or in tatters before too long...but they're super cute!

LO is almost 18 months. I think she would yank this down in an instant, but sometimes she surprises me with things she thinks are "fun". So, I think if I were sitting in it with her, she might be OK. You could always put it over the crib until then!

I would imagine somewhere between 2.5 and 3 years old. DS would destroy that, at 20 months old, but DD would LOVE it at 3.5 years old!

I don't think until LO was at least 2. My son would tear that down in a heartbeat and think it was hilarious.

Before I finished reading and scrolled down I thought you meant the branch hanging from the ceiling-- I was really impressed with your toddler at that point! (And maybe worried about how long your sanity was going to last 
).
The family I work for has something similar and it gets fussed with a lot but it is hung securely enough that I haven't worried about it being pulled down and the kids are 2 and 4. Their cousins are much more rambunctious and still no issues.

@Cole: hehe. The picture is a recent pin on Pinterest and it got me thinking about my tent thing. DD just turned 16 months. It's gonna be awhile before I can put it up.

That is so adorable!
C is having fun tryin to scare us (papa taught her how to surprise someone and say boo!!) which means she hides behind our curtains & pulls on them.
I wouldn't be able to put one up now

I'm confused. It seems to me it would be easy to secure it by screwing a hook into a stud in the ceiling.... and no kid could pull that down. What am I missing?

@MamaMoose: It would be hard to pull down if screwed into a support beam (which I hope everyone would do). I could maybe see the fabric ripping with a child swinging on it, though.

@MamaMoose: It's very thin fabric, so it would be shredded , plus, it's just a little piece of thread at the top that would be attached to the hook. It's not heavy duty, lol.
