There's a huge mirror in our lobby and I'm forced to look at it almost every day. I usually think to myself, "ugh, stand up straight." Plus I mentally lament how bummy I'm dressed.
When you look in the mirror, what do you usually think to yourself?

Dam I aged. .I should go for a run.
They don't go together but that's what goes through my mind

I wish I didn't have to wash my hair every day. This is usually first thing in the morning.
honeydew / 7230 posts
Lately it's just been "oh my god your stomach is huge!" But this morning it was "your stomach will never be this huge again!"
nectarine / 2765 posts
@mediagirl: girl, I am so with you on the hair! I curse mine every morning.
Not too shabby I spose. And damn, that girl is pasty.

@twodoghouse: so exciting!!
I always think "self, you'd be so much prettier if you lost ten pounds." Ugh.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
If it's at work, I usually thinking "Looking good!" unless I think "OMG, what is my hair doing???"
But at home when I don't get all dolled up and put on flattering clothes, it's usually more along the lines of "Wow, you look tired" or "Wow, am I really that pale?" or "OMG, why do I keep wearing this??? It looks terrible on me!"
persimmon / 1177 posts
Stand up straight and suck it in! And I'm always wondering when my hair got so flat and limp.
Also, our bathroom mirror is super unflattering, so if I catch sight of myself in a different mirror, I'm usually happily surprised at how I look
apricot / 432 posts
Usually I'm torn between "Well. This is as good as it's gonna get." and an urge to giggle at myself.
nectarine / 2115 posts
Lately I think.... "Oh no! My face!"
Since I have been pregnant I have developed really terrible skin. My cheeks are almost always flaming red and spotted. It's terrible, and always looks worse than I expect it to!

Lately, because I'm pregnant for the first time, it's "wow i did not know my stomach could get this big."
grapefruit / 4136 posts
@Adira: hahaha! Same! At work I put effort into how I look because I am around the public all the time. At home? Uh, no. Ugly sweats. No bra. No makeup. It's rough haha!!!

"nice makeup and hair. but what in that actual f**k happened to my body?"
clementine / 984 posts
I'm just digging this whole new motherhood thing, so when I see myself in the mirror it's mostly a lot of "Heck yeah! Not bad for 10 weeks pp. Sure, your tummy's still a little big, but check out those boobs!" LOL!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
DH always tells me I look so cute that I think I must look great then I look in the mirror and am shocked that my hair is a mess and I look all kinds of tired and not cute
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
I don't even think anything anymore. I kinda look without seeing.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
My first thought is usually "dude you need to pluck those eyebrows!"
My second thought is how much I like the blush I splurged on.
It helps to not have a full length mirror in the house!
kiwi / 656 posts
@mrsrain: me too
Ugh my poor skin, then normally a rant about how I'm not a glowing pregnant lady as I thought I would be!
coconut / 8681 posts
My first thought is usually that I'm SO white..sooooo sooooo pale. Then it's about the bags under my eyes. I'm trying really hard to be less self critical lately though. It's really difficult for me but I feel like it's so important for my kids.
apricot / 322 posts
Something akin to, "Hey I don't really look like I *just* had a baby!" and then I move on to noticing how my lower abdomen changed, and how I hope I can change it with diet and exercise.
kiwi / 714 posts
Honestly? "Blech" is generally what I'm thinking. Lately it's been examining my stomach for stretch marks, and hoping they don't appear the more pregnant I get.
kiwi / 714 posts
@mrsrain and @Mrs tartan: thank GOD I'm not the only one without the elusive "glow"! My face hasn't gotten too too bad, but my back I'm in the third trimester in summer in NC, and I have no clue what how to avoid people seeing how disgusting it's become without burning up.
pomelo / 5469 posts
Full length and I think "ugh. I still have so much weight to lose"... just the head and I think "ooh, I looked like I've caught a tan" -- at least lately anyway!

"Stand up straighter ... Shoulders back.. Great, now I look like I'm sticking out my boobs. Reese, you are so awkward. Work on your bitchy resting face.. Now smiling looks weird. How do people NOT look bitchy when resting their face.... Fuck it."
pomegranate / 3329 posts
@Reese: Me too, I look so bitchy/mad when I'm not smiling!
My thoughts are usually "Man you really need to get your hair done", and "Wow you need to more sleep!"
grapefruit / 4006 posts
If I've put myself together that day, its usually "not too bad! Pretty good even!"
If I haven't, I think I look old and tired. Sigh.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
"Schedule your hair appointment" and "my legs look rough." I've always got bruises and scrapes on my knees from doing girl push-ups and right now I've got a giant bruise from running into the tailgate on DH's truck.
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
Honestly, I think I look good. Tired, hair is a disaster....but I'm pretty happy with myself at this point. Took while to get here, but I'm glad I made it. I wasted way too much time tearing myself apart.
