I was living with someone... But DH & I met because he was my trainer at the gym, so I wasn't out meeting guys. I was just getting healthy & working on me, which turned into kicking the ex out & then hooking up with sexy trainer, which then grew into way more than either of us intended when it first started!

Single and hating men! Ha! I stay away from guys that tries to get close when they already have a gf! DH and I were barely even friends and he told me about a new girl that moved into his dorm. He's so honest! I've never heard of a guy do this before and that's one of the reasons why I fell for him!

@mrbee: Well, it was someone who I had been dating, but we knew we weren't suitable for a long term relationship, so we still had all the benefits of a couple (not just sexual, but we would hang out, cuddle on the couch, go on dates, be each others +1 etc), while we understood each of us was dating around.

@mrbee: haha, it is! And now he doesn't train people anymore in his defense, I was the only client he ever hooked up with.

Just got out of on/off again four yr relationshop. Hence we took it slow... didn't go 'official' til six or seven mths later!

Single!

@mrs. bird: My arrangement partner was totally cool with it, I just called him and told him I met someone I was into, we were still friends for a while, but then he met someone and his new GF (now wife) wasn't cool with me being around :(.

We were both single but it was a week before I moved to a different continent!

@MsMini: that sounds so intriguing! I've never heard of anyone doing that... so what was end purpose of the arrangement if you weren't in love or pursuing anything permanent? just to have fun? I have never casually dated so I guess I just don't understand..

Re: OP's question: I was freshly out of a serious relationship... meaning he was about to pop the question (I think he was planning for a Christmas engagement and we broke up early November) and had just moved across the country to escape it all and find a new life. We met the first month I was there and we were dating a couple months later DH hadn't been in a relationship for over a year when he met me.

@Coco Bee: We were friends first, so we actually genuinely cared about each other, and physically we were quite comfortable/compatible. The wasn't an end purpose really, it was just nice for both of us to have the comfort of a relationship while we were both looking for "the one". It was a safety zone, a soft place to land, and nice to never feel "single" really. It really took the pressure off of dating.

When we met online I was in a really abusive relationship, and a total rut. If I would have met him in real life I for sure would not have gone out with him. But then me and my ex broke up and then I finally got brave and flew out to meet my DH.

We had both broken up with our high school SOs before goingto college, so we were both single when we met the first week of classes.

@Crumbs: in my head, everyone in Sweden is painfully good looking! I can only imagine how hot that was... I need to google them now

@Crumbs: I just did some google stalking, and she is a very healthy beautiful! He is cute too, but I think she is clearly the catch in the relationship. I married a titled man too

We were both dating people. Me and my ex had been together for 8 months. DH and his had been together for four years, were talking marriage, and she had moved from China to the US to be with him. The day we met I called my mom moaning about how all the good guys had girlfriends. DH and I became friends and eventually double dated with our exes. At one point his ex-gf called me his perfect girlfriend...eep. It was more than a little sticky. Two months later we were both single and have been inseparable ever since.

We were both single. I had just moved to a new country and was desperate for friends, so when his sister invited me to play basketball with them on the weekend, I was all over it! And then I showed up, he was sitting there, and the rest was history!

We were both single... high school sweethearts!
