DH has a bad cold right now and I'm terrified he'll give it to A. Yesterday I'd told him he was going to have to do major baby duty today as I'm shattered, but actually I've barely let him near her all day, I'm just scared of her exposure to germs and so is he, he's sleeping on the sofa tonight as a precaution since she sleeps in our room, but I can tell he misses snuggling her.
Do you limit your time with baby if you're so sick?

LO gave DH her cold, so I let the two of them hang out as much as possible. He just wanted to lay down so they got lots of snuggle time.

Nope! P sleeps in bed with us & we've both been sick & she's been fine. Figure that's why I breastfeed. Lol

If I know she was the one who gave it to us, then I don't stay away - I actually take the time to snuggle with her 
Usually, she's sick and we don't want to catch it (thank you, daycare), so we don't snuggle very much until she's healthy again. But, if she's healthy and we're sick, then I we just wash our hands before holding her and try not to kiss on her until we're healthy.

DH usually tries to stay away but since I'm BF her I don't have that option.

DH slept on the couch one time when I was sick (hell no am I going to the couch!) but it was because I was snoring so loud it woke him up 
More than anything we allow each other to rest, so we don't try to push work on the other person and just let them rest to get well. We don't let J live in a bubble though, we just try to be somewhat careful.

@babyjmama: Yeah I've tried to let him rest today but it's been hard as I'm running on fumes just now. Guess I'm going to have to wait a bit longer for my rest : )

DH just had a stomach bug. He stayed in the bedroom for like 48 straight hours! We were so nervous LO would get it. He is one month old

@travelgirl1: Oh heck no girl, if you're tired you're tired! If you let yourself get run down then it will just mean you will get sick! You tell him to suck it up and help out DH totally doesn't get away with everything when he's sick haha (but I do...oopsies!)

If one of us is sick they sleep in the guestroom. Not because we are afraid they will make LO sick, but to make sure they get a full night of sleep; completely uninterrupted by spouse, baby or cat! Other than that, we don't limit exposure.

@coacheswife123: Oh yes! Help is important to remember you can ask for! When I had my wisdom teeth removed last month I had my mom over everyday for a week and my MIL came a few days in the evening.

I'm a sahm. I spend all day, every day with lo. I don't have a choice. I try to wash my hands a lot and not breath on her, but she's always on top of me crawling all over me. Last time I had a really bad cold it lasted two weeks and lo didn't even catch it. Dh did though.

@babyjmama: it's catch 22, if he doesn't help I'll get even tireder, if he does help and she catches it then I'll have a lot more to be tired about with a sick baby. we don't have any family here to help either. When he's better he so owes me some sleep : )
