When you remove a friend from Facebook, do you delete them entirely or just hide their updates?

Depends. If they're just annoying I'll hide them. If I honestly don't know them (friend of friend 8 times removed) I'll delete them.

I only hide them as I don't want to insult them if they find out I have deleted them. I have hidden a lot of people though.

Both. If I'm pretty sure I'll never see the "friend" again, I'll delete. If there's a chance we'll run into each other I'll hide updates.

I mostly hide the people that post too often about their pyramid businesses or religion.
I've deleted three people--one because she kept saying things that were racist/sexist, another because he was a misogynist, and the last was a close friend of 15 years who ended our friendship (but didn't delete me on FB!) so I deleted her

If I don't want to be friends with somebody, I'll delete them. If I find them annoying, I'll just hide them for a while and then decide if I want to delete them.

I delete them. I dont worry about hurting their feelings since I would never see or talk to them irl. I seriously doubt that they notice when I delete them too.

I haven't really deleted anyone, but I have either restricted them or hidden their posts. Nowadays, if I don't really know you, I don't accept your friend request.

Unless it is something really serious (which hasn't happened yet) I just hide them. I don't really go out on wild friending binges, so it is pretty minimal.

I only delete if I'm not friends in real life and I have no interest in hearing about their lives. I hide a lot of annoying people.
@Mr. Bee, I tried to find you on facebook. You're too sneaky, I think... but did you know there's a politician with your same name? haha.

If I'm deleting them, they're deleted. If they're just annoying me with constant updates, I'll unsubscribe to their updates. Usually though if they've annoyed me to that point they're on the verge of being deleted anyways.

I've done both. I have deleted "friends" when they post things that are racist or hateful to others. But I hide people that are just annoying. Including my SIL, she breaks all of the unsaid FB rules.

I delete. I wish there was a "denied" response when people friend me. I want them to know I don't want to be their friend.

Depends. If I'm friends with the person but they tend to be gamers, I just hide their posts. If I'm not friends with them, I delete.
