what do you do?
If I am truly desperate, I will put a video in the bathroom and will only play it if a child is in the bath. I need more tips and tricks though, because bathtime battles have been becoming pretty painful lately!

My 2 year old was giving me a lot of trouble with baths lately. Then I realized it was because he hated taking baths alone and only enjoys it with his older brother. I would just try to get it done as quickly as possible while he cried through the whole ordeal. Getting out of the tub and drying was more difficult. Lots of tears.

I used to lure her in by putting the baby and washing the baby and making a big fuss. That failed this week, so in desperation, I got in myself and that worked! She was thrilled to give mommy a scrub!

We get in with her also. we also give her something new to play with in the tub (not necessarily a new toy but something like a cup) and that will sometimes motivate her. We also out on music when she is reluctant to get in.

I make her do it. Baths are a non-negotiable to me. And sometimes that means it's a 3 min bath.

Is showering an option? Sometimes we take a 30 second shower. I count aloud to 30 while washing LO really fast and then it's done.

I was going to suggest showering too. Our LO sometimes doesn't want to get into the shower but once he's in the shower he loves it so we feel less bad about "forcing" him to get into the shower.

@Grace: That used to work for us, but it's gotten tougher as the kids got older!

The trick in our house is the promise of my kids getting to put a bath fizzy or crayola color drops in the water.
