No, but I don't leave them with people who I don't trust to be safe. I used to worry about their sleep, but they seem to have so much fun that they crash and snooze for 10+ hours every time!

Ditto @habesbabe. My in laws, for example, leave nails laying around their house (seriously), whereas my parents crawled through their entire apartment last time we visited to make sure most danger points were secure. Guess who gets to keep her for a weekend and who doesn't? I also know my mom is neurotic (good and bad) about keeping an eye on LO, so I know she's going to be pretty vigilant, and I give her all the watch-out points as well. And I have found that my kid sleeps easier and longer at my parents. It was really hard to let it go the first time around, but I just had to take it on faith and everything worked out great.

No, but they've only ever stayed with grandparents, who are very vigilant (and my mom is a super light sleeper!)

@Truth Bombs: same. I worry about her fighting bedtime, waking up sick, etc. but I know that safety wise she is fine.

@mediagirl: nah. I still leave him there. My fear isn't so irrational that I would stop his sleepovers there. We have also had a few talks about how opening the door isn't ok unless [insert person] is there.

LO has stayed overnight with my parents many times. I don’t worry about safety. They did fine by me as parents, and are about 100000000000000000000000x more attentive to / protective of / doting on LO, so I can’t imagine she could ever get out of their sight.

I worry about her, but only with regards to car seat safety. My dad is terrible at using the car seat. He will strap her in with the straps all twisted and super loose. I have had to instruct my brother (who lives with my dad) how to do it because I don't trust my dad at all. His response is something like "they weren't this complicated when you were little."

@catlady: @mediagirl: My poor dad pinched my LO one time when putting her in the car seat and she will NEVER let him live it down. She won't let him buckle her unless they are alone and there is no other option. She tells him "Papou, you not the best at buckling me".

Nope, my girls have stayed with both sets of grandparents and one of my sister's. All who I trust immensely. I more get concerned about the behavior when coming home from grandma's who lets them do what they want

They've stayed with my parents, or in laws, several times so generally I don't worry too much about their safety. I'm a pretty laid back parent though; I probably should worry more about certain things!

My mom and MIL are stricter than I about safety etc. (I got lectured by my MIL for having balloons at the boys last birthday party. Like wtf are you kidding me? *roll eyes*) so no, I don't worry.

Lo1's dad - well kinda have to trust him that he knows how to toddler proof an area nah but in all seriousness he's a concientious and generally awesome dad so again, I don't worry.

I used to worry a bit about exDH's dad, but ..... That's exDH's problem, not mine. And he's been watching LO1 every other weekend for over a year now so *shrug* the worry has mostly gone away at this point.

Yes and no. Do I worry just because I'm irrational? Sure? Do I worry that she is in real danger? No.

i am not that worried. haven't actually gone away yet, but next month DH and I are doing an overnight trip by ourselves while my mom is visiting. I am not about LO wandering out because he currently still stays in his room all night and calls for us to come to him when he wakes up (MOTN or morning). So even though he is fully capable of leaving him room on his own, he won't get out of bed without us.

i worry more if my mom were to take him out and can;t keep up with him - would he run into the road. or some other freak accident indoors happening.

No I don't worry. My ILs are the only ones who keep him overnight, and he's safer with their overprotective worried ways than he ever is in my house
