Do you wake up when they come home? I usually do, but I was so tired last night that I didn't hear him. In the middle of the night, I realized that there was a body next to me and I freaked out for a second. I poked him a few times to check that it was really DH. LOL.

I usually do, even if it is just to give him a goodnight kiss! That would freak me out too!

Yes I usually do. This doesn't happen very often though. Only once in the six months since the baby was born.

Lol. I've never gone to bed with DH not home (usually fall asleep on the couch waiting for him) but I'm sure if I did that would be a funny way to wake up!

Usually . . . DH's car has a very distinct sound, and I usually hear him come up the driveway. But not always!

I usually wake up, but I'll be honest I am not fully and deeply asleep until everyone's home and tucked in.

Yes I usually hear him come in if he's not at home, but if he comes in from watching TV I don't usually wake up!

I can't sleep properly until he's home and in bed so I always hear him - I can hear him coming through the front gate, never mind the door!

@looch: Ditto! Even though I'm beyond exhausted, I normally stay up until hubby comes home.

Same as @Cherrybee: I tend to lie in bed awake until he gets home. Though sometimes he'll stay up in the house working after I've gone to bed and I'll fall asleep and wake up again when he comes to bed.

I used to... But I sleep a lot more soundly since I had DS (I don't notice when DH gets up to go to work, etc.) so I'm not sure that I would now! He hasn't come home after I'm already asleep since LO was born.

sometimes. i'll often fall asleep on his side of the bed so I hear the monitor if the baby gets up, since i'm a much heavier sleeper, and it's on his side of the bed. so then he has to wake me up to move over. I usually fall right back asleep though.

I hear DH come home, plus I'm a light sleeper. I don't sleep well until I know he's home anyway.

After several freak-out sessions where I thought there was an intruder in the house, we now have a comfortable routine where the first thing DH does when he walks through the door is come to wake me up adn let me know it's him. I go right back to sleep and he does his thing then comes to bed.

I do, but I'm the lightest sleeper ever so everything wakes me up. I wake up multiple times every night for no reason, so someone getting into bed after I'm sleeping would definitely wake me, haha.

I never wake up and it freaks me out that someone could totally break in and I'd be snoring away, completely oblivious.

I usually don't just because I'm so exhausted lol but I am never surprised when he's there. I guess I've just gotten used to him working late? It actually is the opposite, if he's NOT there then I get worried! Sometimes when he covers high school football games far away it will be 1 or 2 before he gets home so I start getting antsy if I wake up around then and he's not back!

I usually lie in bed awake until he is home. But if I do fall asleep I always wake up. He has a very loud truck, plus I can hear the garage openning and the dogs running to the door to great him.
