Hey bees! DH and I are heading to NYC for our anniversary. We like to buy art to commemorate trips we take, but we don't like to spend a huge amount.
Where could we find cheap local art? We'd likely spend anywhere from $25-$100 on something. We want it to be local!!

Hmm...what do you mean by local? There are a TON of vendors on the streets, especially in soho and by the metropolitan museum of art/in central park, that sell matted art work. However, you might notice that many of them are selling the same thing 
I would try exploring little boutiques or art shops in chelsea and the west village to try to find something small.

I was going to suggest De La Vega- He's a grafiti artist, but appraently his store closed

I would also suggest to head downtown where you can maybe find a street artist. Make sure to meet the artist or else a lot of things are copies. You also see a lot of caricature artists around Central Park. Maybe you can get one done of you both! Happy Anniversary!
