We've had the same lady working for our family since I was living with my parents (more than 5 years). Now, she is done with school and has found a job working in her field (yay!)
Good for her...bad for me. I've got 1 week left with her:(
I want to find someone else who works privately and not a cleaning company (they only do limited services and charge probably more than I was paying my lady). Any ideas?
Is there like a website where I could find people? CL seems kind of creepy.

Ask your friends. That's how we got our rec. Good cleaning ladies will get good word of mouth.

We asked our realtor. Our cleaning person is seriously the most amazing cleaner/hard-worker you will ever meet! Realtors always seem to know the best for these kinds of things

I'm also trying to find a cleaning lady! I found our babysitter on care.com and turns out they have cleaning ladies too and their are a couple in my area with good reviews. So maybe check out care.com?

I was also wondering this! None of my friends live close enough that their cleaning ladies work out here! And those companies ARE expensive! They charge like $80/visit MORE than my friends pay. FOR THE SAME SIZE HOUSE!

@LazyLightning: Not many of our friends use cleaning ladies and those who do either have ones that are fully booked or they just aren't reliable. For example, my friend's cleaning lady always comes very late or doesn't show:(

I would ask friends and family. We just closed and the sellers gave us the card to the person that did the cleaning for them. They cleaned the day before closing so we at least know they do a good job. I like @Mrs. Jacks: suggestion to ask a realtor. They always know someone for everything.
