My inlaws just bought a new couch and 2 gliders from Macy's, and they are really nice!

Craigslist and hand-me-downs, haha. I bought a couple of things from Amazon, but when we lived in a college town, Craigslist was the BEST place for furniture because a lot of the grad students would buy(rather, their parents would buy) brand new furniture and then need to get rid of it ASAP when they were done with school, so the prices were dirt cheap for good quality items.

My bedroom furniture is from Room Store, but my mom purchased it when I was in highschool, so I didn't foot the bill then. My sofa/recliner in the living room is handmedown La-z-boy from when my mother bought herself a new set and needed to get rid of her old furnityre, and I really like it. A couple of things, like my husband's office desk are hand-made from family members.

At first our house mainly comprised of hand me down furniture that was 20+ years old. It was of poor quality, and we have been slowly replacing them with Ikea furniture (all we can afford at the moment). Ideally I would love to find great used pieces that need some TLC. I just don't have time for garage sales and estates sales anymore.

Most of our furniture is from a local "chain" store. We also have a few things from Ashley Furniture and even Amazon.

We have a lot of IkEA, but now we are mostly buying stickley.

Our dresser and nightstands are Z Gallerie, bed is Joss and Main. All our guest bedroom furniture, nursery dresser and nightstand are antique pieces I've picked up from antique/flea markets, vintage shops, and Craigslist. Sofa is custom. Dining set/coffee table/China cabinet are very expensive hand me downs from DHs aunt & uncle. The rest are random pieces from Craigslist, Home Goods, Target, and Ikea. I've always been about quality pieces I like and willing to wait to get something I like and can afford vs. just filling up the place. That's why we still have an empty formal living room! Lol!

Most of our stuff is hand-me-downs. We did buy a couch at La-z-boy that has held up just so/so. Our big splurge was our Pottery Barn bed and I really really wish we had just gotten a king instead of a queen because now I want to upgrade but I love our bed frame.

I'm a PB whore! I decided that I was tired of my crappy furniture pre-marital self (like my coffee table and end tables were from Target- looked good but not the kind of wood that lasts forever!), and when we got our first house, we got rid of our hodge-podge crap and just made the investment in really nice furniture from there and I honestly plan on having most of it FOREVER. Like we have the whole Valencia set and I see myself laying in it when I'm 80, lol.

I did get our PB dining table on CL for WAY cheap, so check there too!!! Also got H's PBK Larkin crib/dresser and Cameron wall unit thingy on CL!

Our dining set is from RH, our sectional is custom, our headboard is from Crate and Barrel, our dresser/nightstands is from a great local store that sells model home furniture. The dresser and nightstands were from Bassett. All of Lo's playroom furniture is from PBK.

Right now it's Ikea, hand me downs and a few nice pieces that we've been slowly buying.

My bedroom set is from Thomasville and my son's room is actually my old bedroom set from when I was a child...my mom had the forethought to make sure she bought something gender neutral and timeless. It's in perfect condition.

Other than that, I have a few odds and ends pieces, but I am on the hunt for living and dining room furniture at the moment. I found a great dining set at Costco for a good price, but for couches, I am STUMPED.
