I think I'd like to jump on the trend of spelling out our baby's name over her crib. But dang, we picked a long name!
For those of you that did this, where did you purchase the letters from? I'm open to unfinished ones, and doing them myself.
And show me yours if you're willing! Especially those who have 7+ letter names.

goinggaga on etsy. I wasn't too impressed for the price because of some communication issues with the seller, but I love the letters. I bought 6 letters. I used them because I wanted a specific font type that you couldn't get at a store. She painted them for me too and sent hanging nails.
Here's a photo of the letters. I have them on the wall now and they look awesome! I just haven't taken a pic yet.

We bought ours from AC Moore and painted them ourselves. They're attached to the wall with velcro strips. I love how they turned out.

I loved the metal Anthropologie letters, but we also chose a 7 letter name. Ouch! I bought these cardboard letters at JoAnn's and a few cans of glitter spray paint for a simple DIY. They're velcro'd onto the wall.

I still want to do this but haven't yet. But I want cardboard since in paranoid a out anything heavier over her crib. I like the Ora the have at paper source (unfinished).

@Foodnerd81: I think those are similar to the JoAnn ones. I used Velcro because there are no holes pre-drilled in the letters, and I don't have to make any nail holes in the wall! Simple and easy!

One of my students' parents made mine as a gift. She bought the letters from Hobby Lobby and painted them herself.

@Bookish: that's smart, but we're specifically trying to avoid having her called "Nat" since dh is already matt.
@Ash: definitely that or a monogram or something was an idea. I just really liked the ones from pb kids and when I started pricing them out at $14/letter, yikes!
@Danizaur: ooh, I like the font and the white and price isn't bad!
@Phillybaby2013: smart about the Velcro. We're probably not living in our place much longer (another reason I've been hesitant to do too much in the nursery) so the less holes I put in the walls the better.
@shopaholic: cute and light, which same as foodnerd is one off concerns with putting stuff over the crib. I looked at the michaels ones but they were really fat and stood too far off he wall for my taste but yours look great!

@Danizaur: I just had to say I love the name Truett. I've never heard it as a baby name before but it doesn't seem trendy/made up. Really cute and I love your letters too! And the wall color. And the quilt. Ok I'll shut up now. 
We chose a seven letter name too. I think we will just be using the first letter as an accent.

My LO has a short name but I made her name using cardboard letters from Joanns and yarn. Got the idea off pinterest.

I got my H at Paper Source. It's hot glued onto the wreath. You can't see it well from the pic, but I mod-posted scrapbook paper to it.

I found my lady on Facebook, a friend had used her for a door sign and I discovered she did letters too. I believe they were $9 a piece (decorated)

We got ours from BRU because they were on sale and we had some money leftover from a gift card-- we just went with initials (CDH) rather than her full 9-letter first name. We have them hanging above the changing table. Didn't want anything over the crib in case of an earthquake.

I don't have a picture and R is napping but I used smaller letters and attached string to them and put them in a picture frame with a scrapbook paper back ground. It isn't above her bed though. love how everyones turned out.

@shopaholic: @Mrs. Taco: I'm really liking the Joann's letters you guys used and like the idea of making them myself. Did you guys use the 8" or 12" letters? They're sold out of E's in the 8 inch, and unless I want to change her name to Natali that's not going to work!

a.c. moore. i attached scrapbooking paper to them using modge podge. a couple of them have glued buttons, as well.
