I have read several people post that they got a deal on their UppaBaby Vista....I can't remember if this involved a coupon or an end of the model year sale, etc...
I am shopping craigslist, but I haven't totally decided on buying one on there yet, since we have until November to make up our minds on this (Harper's due the first week of Dec)...
Any suggestions?

Gilt Groupe has periodic sales on them in the baby & kids section. Usually last year's model for $450.

We got the 2011 model on amazon in November for $475...they were getting ready to release 2012 so selling the 2011 at a discount.

@jholler25: did you decide on the ub vs the bug?
We didn't get a deal, because I wanted the 2012 model, but you've seen the 2011 models on sale online on amazon I think!

@hilsy85: I decided against the bug bc you can't convert it to a double stroller like the UBV, and if all goes even remotely as planned, we'll have Baby 2 when Harper is still in a stroller. What is the main diff b/t the 2011-2012?

@jholler25: The 2012 has a new recline position--can recline to 180 degrees, so all the way flat, versus the 2011, which does not recline all the way flat. There are some cosmetic differences too, like the peekaboo window is held open with magnets, versus a pull cord thingy. I got mine on zulily last october for $400 (including shipping). I've been really pleased with it so far, and the customer service is fantastic! The seat got stuck on the base and they sent me a replacement, no questions asked. I met a lady at the airport who also had an uppababy vista (she approached me about the travel bag...i swear there is an unspoken unity amongst uppababy moms) and she was also singing the praises of the customer service.

@stiffaknee: I saw the travel bag and had read that you have to check the UBV...Has it been pretty easy to travel with it/keep it undamaged with that bag?
@hilsy85: Thanks! I felt overwhelmed comparing a zillion strollers, and was briefly excited to decide on the UBV. But now I am just as overwhelmed trying to decide on which one! I am not totally opposed to spending the dough on a new one, it's just my nature to bargain-shop, and I know there are ways to get "deals" on it, which gets me excited:) So I'm trying to weigh all the options and make the best choice. Will the 2013 come out before December?

@jholler25: That I don't know...the 2012 came out this spring, so I would guess that the 2013 would also come out in the spring of 2013? It's frustrating to think that we'll buy the snazzy strollers, and then they'll make improvements to them and come out with a new model a few months later! 
For me, the deciding factor was the 180 degree recline. In all the Amazon reviews I read, that was one of the biggest complaints by parents--that it didn't recline all the way, which made napping difficult. I don't know how much of an issue it actually is, but I figure if they fixed it for the 2012, I would just go with that!

@jholler25 The travel bag does a pretty good job of protecting the stroller...and if it were to get damaged, uppababy will replace it (which is why I wanted the bag so badly). It has wheels, too, so once you get the stroller in, you can just wheel it around. The only drawback is that it can be a little tricky getting the stroller into the bag (you have to take the wheels off) so it might be tough if you're traveling by yourself.
I had to gate check it, but I think you would have to do that with any stroller...it also doesn't fit through the scanner, so you have to take the seat off, run it through the scanner and have the base manually inspected.

@stiffaknee: I cannot WAIT to travel with children- lol! I always avoid the security line with the family with all the small children and carseats and strollers - I make a beeline for another one! That's going to be me! Taking wheels off of UBVs in the middle of the airport- haha:)

@jholler25: I was just on pishposhbaby.com, doing this online chat thing with a mom representative, and she just offered me 7% off the uppa baby and all accessories, with free one day shipping! I would definitely go the the website and chat with someone, and ask whether they have any deals they can help you get.
