I wanted a more modern looking crib than those typically sold at places like Buy Buy Baby so I chose the Sahara crib by Argington. It can also convert into a toddler bed. We aren't sure if we'll take that option yet (you have to buy a conversion kit), but we probably will. We have been happy with the crib.

We like simple lines as well and bought this crib from BRU and used a 20% off coupon. It's a convertible but we have no intention of converting it. We also planned on placing the crib with the short side against the wall so we needed a crib that was oriented that way.

We have the BamBam Crib from Argington. We liked that it starts off as a bassinet.

@Red: How do you like the Ikea dresser? I was actually looking at that dresser, although we are registered for the dresser that matches our crib from Argington, but it's pricey (plus we have our own Ikea dressers and they've held up for pretty well for the past 3 years.)

@mrsjazz: I like it a lot. Sturdy construction, rails glide easily, and super deep drawers so I can throw lots of stuff in there. The only thing I would caution about is that it's pretty easy for my LO to pull open the drawers and if the drawer is full, it glides back too easily and she can get her fingers caught in the process....although that only happened once and now she's very careful about pushing it back in slowly. But the cons are minimal compared to the cost/quality.

We got the Baby Appleseed Davenport crib for #1 and for #2 we got a Westwood crib (can't remember the exact model).

We have a legacy crib that we bought at a small family owned baby store. It was a discontinued model so we got a great deal on it. I wasn't a fan of the cribs at bru or bbb and the ones I liked online I couldn't find in the stores and the crib is something I wanted to see in person before buying.

and we will be getting a dresser from Ikea. Not sure which one yet.

We got the Gulliver crib from Ikea. I didn't want to spend a boatload of money on such a short term piece of furniture, plus the clean modern lines go with the general feel of our house.

Walmart. I was pretty stunned I found one there, but the rave reviews won me over and it has been great:

@winniebee: those look really nice! how do you like it? offhand, do you know how much the palis are? i tried looking up the price but i have to go to the store....

how's the wood? lot of the davinci cribs people complain because it's easily scratched....

@winniebee: I love the look of the baby mod cribs at Walmart! Question though, I've heard that the mattress size isn't standard or something along those lines...have you found this to be a problem? Just wondering if standard crib sheets are loose/tight...thanks!

We bought our crib used from Kijiji, it's the Baby Italia Pinehurst and we love it. Great deal and it's in perfect condition!

We got the Pali Torino crib and dresser. I'm on my phone so I can't link, but it is easily searchable on Google. We went with the crib bc we wanted something that looked like a good style for a boy and modern. It's also convertible which we also wanted.

@mediagirl: We got the Hemnes 8-drawer dresser, and we will just put a contoured change pad on it.

we got the white DaVinci Emily 4 in 1 crib from amazon.. it was really affordable... I think we got it for less than 150?

@mediagirl: we have the ikea gulliver too. we use the jersey sheets that come in a 2 pack with it, and they've held up well over the last year.

for a changing table, we found an ikea hemnes cabinet for $50. it has two doors instead of drawers, which I find easier to use one handed. we have a non slip changing pad on top.
