@marionberry: So cool! We loved Brisbane! We were there during the Brisbane festival in September and enjoyed that immensely. Do you go to the city much since you're an hour away?
grape / 76 posts
@JoJoGirl: oh HAHA! guess I could have looked at her profile!
@marionberry: nevermind about the Brisbane stuff lol. We LOVED the Mount Hood area of Oregon, and really hope to go back someday! You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area!

Dang, can someone start a picture thread? I'd LOVE to see all these places!
EDIT: I started a thread here: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/so-post-your-honeymoon-pictures

DH's parents were so generous and gave us a lump sum to use to go on our honeymoon, to wherever we wanted. We had to use it towards our honeymoon and nothing else! Lol. So we went for a week to Maui. It was heavenly.
My Bro and Sis in law are having a vow renewal in Kauai next Dec and I'm hoping we can go! I'd love to go and visit each island someday.

@MrsBrewer: Just me. I am travel planning freak, who loves to do research. At one point, I thought I should do travel research for people because it's so much fun for me. There are lots of independent spas in Bali, I just did a lot of googling (and looked at Trip Advisor forums, etc.). I recognize that not everyone is this way though. If you ever need some Bali recs, just let me know!

@BKCaribBaby: Awesome! I'm envious! I would love to do that and just figure it out for myself, but I don't think I'm "traveled" enough to trust my judgement!! But I would gladly take rec's when the time comes!....Hopefully the time will come!

Salt Spring Island, we didn't leave the province but it was so much fun and such good seafood!

@mellybelly: Glad you liked it here. I think since I've grown up here I don't value it as much, because everyone comes here and is like "wow it's so beautiful" and to me, it's just normal.
@jojogirl: Thanks for clearing up the confusion! You always have my back.

We went to Mexico. The place we stayed at was fantastic, but we both got super sick when we came back. It always seems to happen when we go to Mexico, so if we could have a redo we would have probably gone to Hawaii.

I didn't find out where we were going until the rehearsal dinner. My husband surprised me with almost 2 weeks in Fiji We stayed in Nadi and Taveuni just after Cyclone Tomas in 2010, it was a total mess, but it was beautiful anyway.

We went to Bali and the Gili islands for a month. It was pure bliss! Feel very fortunate that we were able to take as long as we did. We backpacked, wouldn't have had it any other way! I highly recommend for anyone with the itch to go there.
So many fantastic places for honeymoons, this thread has definitely got me dreaming of my next trip!
@bkcaribaby: Bali is such a wonderful place, did you find everyone so nice? Would love to go back again one day. How long was your flight?
@clementine: Oooh Bora Bora is on my bucket list, was it everything you dreamt it to be and more?

@boiledpnut: We went to Cozumel, Mexico too!! It was so much fun snorkeling, riding scooters to other side of island and catching lobster and having it for dinner. My hubby came home with a really bad sunburn...

@lolabee: it really was. the clarity and the aquamarine color of the water alone made you feel like THIS IS PARADISE!
pear / 1672 posts
@lolabee: Yes, everyone was really, really nice. That was yet another thing we liked about it. The staff at our hotels were obviously wonderful and many of the local Balinese were friendly, too.
Flying time was: Leg 1- 4 hours to Vancouver (stayed on the plane and was there for about an 1.5 hours), Leg 2 - 12 hours Vancouver to Hong Kong, Leg 3 - 3.5-4 hours from Hong Kong to Bali. It was crazy watching the map on the last leg because we just kept flying south. There was nowhere left to go but Australia by that point. I think it was about 30 hours door to door from our apartment to the lobby of our hotel. Totally worth it though!

@MungBean: I love Costa Rica. DH and I take a trip to Quepos/Manuel Antonio every year.
For our honeymoon we went to Thailand for 18 days. We went to Bangkok, Chiang Rai and Khao Lak.

Just got back TODAY from what my (finally!) husband called our "mini-moon." We did a quick 4-day trip in Los Cabos. We're also heading to Hawaii for 10 days in January.

We did 2 weeks in Greece and Turkey. We did Paros, Greece, Istanbul, Turkey, Crete, Greece, and Athens, Greece. It was 9 flights in 14 days! It was an amazing trip but we needed a vacation from our vacation when all was said and done.
kiwi / 662 posts
@Clementine: just as I imagine!! I WILL go one day! By chance are you a scuba diver? If so, did you go?
@BKCaribBaby: We took the exact flight flight path - are you from Canada as well?
@plantains: love Thailand! One of my fav destinations. I never made it to Chiang Rai, how was it?
EDIT: I hope this isn't threadjacking?!

We went to Park City to ski. When we were planning the honeymoon, it was about 112 degrees in Texas and a warm honeymoon sounded horrible. However, I got altitude sickness in Park City. I spent day two and three of the honeymoon in bed watching Storage Wars. It was ridiculous. We did have fun at the end when I felt better, so we could finally go skiing. It was right before Thanksgiving, so we came home for three days and then drove to New Orleans for the long Thanksgiving weekend for a honeymoon re-do. We've been to NOLA a lot - and we had a great time on the re-do!

We went to St. Lucia and stayed at Sandals Grande resort. We loved it, and I got certified to scuba dive down there (DH already was).
@Mrs. High Heels I studied in Spain too, although I was in Madrid. I loved it!

@lolabee: Nope! New York City. It was one of the few ways to get there.

I had a brief honeymoon in Bali and a longer one later to Paris and Rome.
@BKCaribBaby: @lolabee: did you guys stay healthy while in bali? DH was sick the whole time... Something he ate. It was sad to be in paradise and not be up to doing anything. We have been back several times though since is family is in Asia. The last time, I was sick! Such a beautiful place though.
