I met one of my best friends at my other friend's baby shower. We ended up having our babies 3 days apart ... I'm not sure if this counts, but I feel like it's my only mom friend I've met while pregnant or after having the baby. I need to get out more!

Neighborhood parenting listserv - she emailed the list to say she was bummed she couldn't make a playgroup, and I messaged her privately to see if she wanted to try a play date since we each have two kids around the same ages. I just realized this totally sounds like Internet dating for mommies

@PinkElephant: Making mom friends is totally like dating! I'm practically using pickup lines at the library, "so, do you come here often?" Stressing to DH if friending her on FB will seem to forward, trying to decide if the sick kid cancellation is real or just an excuse.
It's a meat market, man.

I have two mummy friends. Once I met at work over a decade ago and one I met when I was 5.

Work. We were friends before we had babies though so maybe that doesn't count?? 3 of us had babies within 1 year, it's very nice.

@Ajsmommy: that counts but I've had a harder time with meeting new friends with kids. I have lots of friends who became parents but they don't live nearby!
