We used to go camping outdoors when I was really young. We'd stay in Nags Head, North Carolina or Chesepeake Bay, Maryland. Nothing too far from our home in Northern Virginia.
Where did you vacation as a kid?

we road tripped a lot. yosemite, all the canyons, yellowstone, san fran, napa, las vegas, reno, new mexico, utah, etc etc!

We were big campers.
We also did a road trip to Yellowstone National Park once, went to Disneyland once, San Diego once (we stayed in a beach house, went to SeaWorld), and lots of trips to Calgary, Alberta.

My family only vacationed once to Colorado, we visited a lot of places while there but can't remember exactly because I was only 5.

We camped. We went fishing in Canada every summer. We went to Florida... California... Rockies and everywhere in between.

Always always always BC. It was a 12 hour drive, but that's where my dad's family all live, so that's where we went.

Camping in VT every summer when we were younger, rented a house in Cape Cod every summer when we were older. We also did Disneyworld twice.

Many trips to Disney World! We also went to Woodloch Pines in Pennsylvania and Myrtle Beach, SC a few times.

Disney World many times (we lived 2.5 hours away). NYC and New England, too. And road trips to Indiana to visit my dad's childhood home. I feel very lucky that my parents were interested in and able to take us on vacations. They definitely gave me the travel bug!
@mrbee: I didn't know you grew up in NoVa. I thought you were from the Philippines!

We usually just visited family either in Wisconsin or Colorado when we moved.
I did spend several summers visiting Mohican National Park in Ohio. It was always a lot of fun spending the time with my cousins and aunts I didn't see a lot.

We rented a beach house every summer for two weeks, usually in LBI or Cape Cod. Every other year we would take bigger trips - to CA, Disney World, Williamsburg, Bermuda, etc.

nags head. My parents own a beach house there. We went a LOT growing up.
We went to Disney once & took weekend trips to places like Chicago. OBX is our home away from home, though.

We did a lot of road trips. From Toronto we went all over the US: cape cod, Washington, D.C., Florida, Texas.

State parks mostly, we went to ones that were within driving distance that had cabins with electricity and plumbing, or hotels nearby (we weren't campers!). About every other year we went to visit family in the Midwest. We also made one pilgrimage to Disney World. Our vacations were pretty low-key when I was a child.

The shore (in Jersey, that is!). Also went to Disney World, Niagara Falls, Williamsburg. Those are the ones I remember before I was 7 or 8.

We usually rented a cabin on a lake in Minnesota every year. I hope to be able to take the same trip with my family someday.

Vancouver often. I live there now, along with our extended family, but my immediate family lives about 5 hours away so we spent all my parents vacation time visiting.
We went to Disneyland once. too.

We always stayed in caravan parks, usually in Cornwall or Wales. At the time we would have given ANYTHING to go abroad instead but looking back, we all have great memories.

When we were very young we went camping a lot in the white mountains in NH and western MA. Starting when I was about 8 we rented a house for a week every August on the southern coast of Maine. We never went anywhere farther than a car trip.
