LO's doctor said we'll talk about feeding at her next appt, so I'm sure I'll get her advice then. But thought I'd ask here. I'd like to make my own purees for the most part, and plan to do that with our blender + ice cube trays. (Not planning on doing BLW.) I assume she'll be mostly eating her formula still, just adding in food here and there as she gets used to it, right?

Questions:
--What food to start with? Mashed cereals? Veggies? I know there are lots of things you're supposed to avoid the first year so I'll for sure look at that too.

--Do you mix it with formula or with water?

--Do you just start with one meal a day (say, dinner?) Mainly I ask this because of daycare. I assume I wouldn't be sending food with her to daycare, at least not for a while--right? So it logically makes sense to give her solids at the meals she's always home for - dinner. Or should we be trying to give her a breakfast 'meal' too (yum... mashed beans for breakfast...?)?

Thanks - if someone has some good blogs or websites (or posts!) about this I'd love to have the links too. We'll probably start making an effort with this within the next month, depending on what her ped says. She showed a lot of interest in her older baby friend's yogurt over the weekend so she may be ready soon.
