Follow up to the anniversary thread, we need something to hang in our room over our bed, so I'm considering something featuring a tree or made out of wood.
Where do you buy wall art? For the most part, I've only ever hung photos or things that have been gifts/handed down.

We've popped into local galleries and have found a few things that we liked. We recently got a reproduction of a photo on tin/aluminum that is stunning. I also frame a lot of photographs that we take.

We frame photographs, but also pick things up along the way when we travel. I did recently buy a piece of art from Wayfair, it really stood out to me and I love it! It's so hard to pick out art. We still need a lot for our house.

Homegoods usually has pieces that I like. they're usually a mainstream enough that i can find something that matches my decor, unique enough that i wont walk into another house and find the same piece, and inexpensive enough that if i change my mind down the road i wont care if i replace it.

We have photos, many of which we took. We have two fine art pieces, one from a gallery and one my DH found on artnet. We also have a few signed prints from Oliver Jeffers, purchased through his website. DD has a few prints I found on Society6.

Art.com or Posters.com are good for prints; we do a ton of large prints of our own DSLR photos or ones we've had professionally taken; and Etsy has some good stuff. Cost Plus World Market also has some great wall decor and we bought our latest canvas-wrapped print of an impressionism-style diptych painting there for a good price, and it's pretty and eye-catching and does a good job covering a large space on the wall. I'm into diptychs and triptychs for a visually engaging way to cover a lot of area.

We go to a lot of art shows and galleries when we travel. I like to get something whenever we go somewhere new. So most of my art has been purchased in-person. But I also have some smaller pieces from etsy shops and minted. I love a lot of the art Serena and Lily and ArtfullyWalls carry, as well.

I found my favorite piece at Goodwill, of all places. I also like browsing Etsy for prints/photographs (it helps if you have a better idea of what you are looking for). I like browsing at street art fairs as well...my town usually has a big one at the end of fall and a few smaller ones throughout the year.

Thanks! I found prints I liked through Society6 and Etsy. I'd tried searching in Etsy, but a general google search ended up being more fruitful.

Sometimes, I'll luck out at Homegoods. I like Etsy, but their search function is awful, so I look on Pinterest and see if I can find shop recommendations. World Market & Society6 have been good options too.
I'd love to buy more when we travel, but I generally end up chickening out due to the cost.
