@regberadaisy: oooh really? Tell me more! We need to start budgeting and really buckling down come August. So far we have used gifted diapers, and picked up packs here and there at the grocery store and Target. We tried to buy some in bulk at costco but when we went we needed newborn sized and they didn't have any!! I love amazon so if diapers are cheapest that way that sounds awesome!

@regberadaisy: What brand do you get?
We stock up whenever and wherever we see a good sale, we are going to need to get some more soon, but I'm not sure if we want to keep with Pampers or switch to a cheaper brand...

@cmomma17: personally I use Huggies and have compared big economy box prices at target when they are on sale + Target Gift Card promotion + manf coupons and Amazon s&s + mom is still cheaper. And also still cheaper than BJs with BJs coupon + manf coupon.
I know Sam's Club does not have coupons nor accept manf coupons but don't know if Costco does?

Amazon Subscribe & Save or sometimes Target if they are on sale and I have coupons to combine.

@cmomma17: I have heard not to stock up on newborn sizes because you end up being left with a lot of extras, since they grow out of that too fast.
Otherwise I have no advice, since I recently bought a 30 pack of NB size and thought I was all set until my friend pointed out that that was like, 3 days worth of diapers.

usually amazon mom + s&s, sometimes diapers.com, sometimes CVS when I have a bunch of ExtraBucks to roll.

Subscribe & save with amazon mom... so convenient and a good price too

I bought our cloth online. But when we travel I buy target brand.

I have a question... We have amazon prime currently, is amazon mom different? Can I sign up for amazon mom even if I already have prime?
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@abbydabbydoodlebug: yes you can. You have to be prime to join amazon mom though. Sometimes they do close enrollment so not sure if it's open right now?
nectarine / 2636 posts
@regberadaisy: oh! OK. Well I should keep an eye out for enrollment then.
honeydew / 7811 posts
@regberadaisy: thanks for the info! I'll have to do some local price comparing too and check into whether costco does coupons.

@Foodnerd81: we weren't trying to stock up though, we were just running low and needed more of that size. We definitely could have gone through another big box! LO has been a peeing and pooping champ since day 1 and was in newborn size longer than I expected!
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@abbydabbydoodlebug: I think amazon mom is open for enrollment - they also have a feeding sale right now for new amazon mom members. check the summer deals thread.

I figure if I go through a case a month, buying prime ($70) would have to save me about $5-6/a case on top of any coupons I'd use at target or BJs to even out and make the membership worth while (assuming I used it for other things).
I feel like in that case it's almost the same price as other stores with sales & coupons..no?

I love S+S plus Amazon Mom. I find the best deals. If I'm in a crunch, I look out for warehouse deal boxes of diapers. It comes out to be either the same price per diaper or a penny more per. Sometimes I can't wait until my S+S time of the month.

Walmart - pampers. If they aren't on sale I price match.
ETA: I got an email from amazon advertising boxes of pampers for 31$ (about the same price as Walmart)....only they shipped within 2-3 weeks. LOL TRY AGAIN

AmazonUK. I can't subscribe though, well technically I can, but then I'd have to pay for shipping each time. Lame.

@sorrycharlie: well the amazon mom sale saved me $40 on my convertible car seat so it's not always just diaper savings.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@dagret: I'm talking just to justify buying it for diapers, I mean. We're on such a (sadly) tight budget that I (probably) wouldn't use it for anything else aside from diapers I did save some money on gear with my trial when I was pregnant though! Good deal on the Motorola cam!
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@sorrycharlie: I hear you....I have some wiggle room in my budget and just didn't tell DH that it cost anything.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@sorrycharlie: I use Prime for a ton of stuff! Snacks, pouches, etc for LO. Clearasil, paper towels, diapers, wipes, gear, birthday gifts, etc. I balked at paying $70 a year but I've definitely gotten my money's worth. You know I'm a cheapie!
Andddddd you can invite up to 4 "household" members so if you can find someone to split the membership with it's not a big deal. I currently split one with another mom.
ETA: These are all household items that we need so it's not like I use it to buy "extra". KWIM? I compare prices to BJs (which I already compared to grocery store & Target) so I know I'm getting a better deal.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@regberadaisy: oooh! I didn't realize you could split! they don't care if they are separate shipping addresses? or do you guys ship to one address and then split the goods when they come?
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@sorrycharlie: everyone gets their own account to input their cc info, shipping addresses, etc. It doesn't even have to be family! You just need to provide their birthday and they need to know your birthday to confirm the invite. The only difference is the main account holder gets Prime video access.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@sorrycharlie: obviously the yearly fee gets charged to the main account holder. Then you can get reimbursed from the other people you split with however you want.

I was at BJs this evening and they sell 144 size 4 huggies Little Movers diapers for 38.99. They had a BJs coupon for $3 off and even if I had a manf coupon they are usually only max $1.50. Which means each diaper is about .239 cts. Huggies manf don't come often and the chance that they occur with a BJs coupon is low as well.
Amazon S&S is $36.77 (includes additional 20% for 5 or more items in delivery) for 160 diapers which is about .229 cts a diaper.
