Slightly odd first-time-mama question here, but where do you put your infant while you dress them?
My first instinct is probably "on the changing table" (if you have one) since dressing them will most often also involve a nappy change?
Or is it easier to put on a fresh nappy and then move to floor/bed/elsewhere to wrangle them into clothing? I've had very little experience at dressing babies so no idea whether it's easier to do with them laid down on a surface, or holding them on your lap or something else!

We do everything on the floor, pretty much. Its much easier than worrying about her getting off a changing table.

Since she is so little still we do the changing table.

I do it on the changing table. I'll put him in his crib if I take too long finding an outfit so I don't have to worry about him falling off.

I do it on the changing table mostly. After bath time, I do it on the floor since that is where I have her infant tub. I have a little cushion that I put her on in the bathroom.

when he was a newborn it was either the changing pad, our bed, the couch or the floor. now it's wherever we land when he stops moving. which is usually on the floor while he's standing up trying to walk around. haha

Still on the changing table at 11.5 months. When she was teeny, tiny I changed her on the changing table or on the pack n play bassinet thing.

When she was a baby she was on the changing table. Now that she's a toddler she doesn't love staying up there so I put her on the ground and chase her around as she tries to play with her toys

Mostly on the changing table. More and more I'm having to dress her while she jumps in her bed, runs round the room, or while wrestling her on my lap

We still dress him on the changing table but something tells me he'll be way too wiggly soon for that!

We have a day bed in her room that I've put a changing pad on that I use for most clothes/diaper changes. She's too wiggly for her changing table, but if she rolls off of the pad on the bed its not so scary.

At 8 months we're sort of transitioning from using the changing table to using the floor. She wants to roll over as soon as I put her down so the floor is easier. The table (a bureau with a changing pad on it) saw a lot of use in the earlier months though!

We didn't have a changing table (chose against it). I've always just changed the kids wherever was most convenient at the time: bed, couch, floor, lap, etc.

Depends on the day, sometimes she HATES the changing table so we will do it on the floor instead. usually it is mornings -- changing table, PJs after bathtime it is floor. She hate getting out of the bath and throws a huge fit because she knows bed is coming up next, by doing the floor it "buys her some time"

Changing table or I her crib if I need to move around. More often the crib this week as she's been trying to roll over!

Changing table but now that he's mobile, I do mostly the floor so I won't have the anxiety of him rolling off (he tries).

Usually on the living room floor (where we change his diapers as well). I find it easier to not have to worry about him rolling over and trying to crawl away, right off the table (because that's his MO).

The changing table at bedtime bc I do lotion and butt paste, but other times usually on the living room floor!

Usually the floor.... Except for bedtime changes into jammies. And it's always been the floor for us (on top of a blanket). It's just easiest!
