While I'm still breastfeeding, I'm pretty sure I'm back to my normal size again but I want to get fitted to be sure. Where do you go for this? I haven't been fitted (other than postpartum by my lactation consultant) in years.

@: mediagirl i went to Victoria's Secret this weekend to buy a new bra and they were super helpful and thorough with fitting. Ended up with a different size than I thought and a cute bra. I know they can be spendy but I thought it was worth it. I think Nordstrom'a does it too?

For my nursing bras, I got fitted at Motherhood, but otherwise, I've been fitted at Victoria's Secret.

Nordstrom! They have the BEST bras. And the best return policy. They turned me onto the Chantelle memory foam t-shirt bra. Amazingly comfy

@autumnlove: @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: @blackbird: what is so good about Nordstrom? Certain brands? Expensive? I am going to go get fitted once R is fully weaned so in a month or two.....

Nordstrom! And a couple of local boutiques that sell only bras/lingerie.

Nordstrom- their employees are all well trained (I've found VS is kind of hit or miss) and they will take their time to help you find what you're looking for. Plus, unlike VS, which only has one brand, Nordstrom has a variety of brands/styles/price points so you have more of a selection.
I will say, when I weaned, my boobies went back to being pretty much where they were pre-pregnancy. They look different (they look smaller) but my old bras still fit.

A specialty store or Nordstrom are the two options I've had the most success with.

Like others said VS can be hit or miss. Last time I went they totally got my size wrong and I had bought all new bras that didn't fit quite that right.

Measure yourself! I have an AWESOME, super accurate tutorial on how to do it. I used this and then got fitted and they put me the same size I had measured myself. I was wearing 36D and was measured a 34F/36E.

As someone who worked at VS for a long time.... don't. Just don't. I'd say Nordstroms is a good place, or if you have a local specialty store.

I hear great things about Nordstrom as well although I haven't' tried it myself. Have only gotten fitted at Motherhood Maternity for nursing and VS for after nursing. I waited until after I stopped nursing to get fitted.

@Smurfette: my question, too!
@Pink Champagne: thanks for the information!! That is one reason why I'm hesitant about VS.... My old bras feel weird. I think I've gotten used to the granny-bands of the nursing bras I have. I used to love my single hook bands but now I find myself leaning towards 2 or (gasp...) 3 hooks!! Haha.
@blackbird: I may have to check that one out!

I think your best bet is either a lingere boutique or a department store, because they have so many brands that offer different fits.

@loveisstrange: Yeah, I worked at VS too, and all the training we had was a quick 5 minute explanation.
All they told us at VS was to measure the width under the bust, then measure the width across the bust - every inch in difference was an extra cupsize.

Plus VS doesnt have a fell size range... if you're over a 40 in band size or DD in cup size they really cant help you get into the right size bra

@smurfette--Nordstrom has the most amazing return policy every plus a very large selection of bras (especially in a larger size, like F, G, etc!). The bras are kind of pricey but it's the only place I can go to try on bras that actually fit that aren't ugly/old ladyish. And sometimes a bra isn't super comfortable and you take it home and the fabric softens and it gets broken in....(and of course by now you've taken the tags off) and if it doesn't stay/get comfy after a couple weeks of wear, Nordstroms will let you return it.

Specialty bra stores. I got fitted last week (matched what I measured myself at home!) and bought a bra for about $35. It's more than I normally spend on a bra, but it was so comfortable.

A specialty store/boutique, or I've heard rave reviews about Nordstrom's. I got fitted at Intimacy, but didn't want to spend a ton of money on bras at the time (I was three months pregnant and knew it would change), so the sales associate told me my size, and told me to check out Nordstrom Rack and Marshall's.
I've had very poor experience at VS, and I hear that from a lot of fuller chested women as well. They don't carry a very large size range, so in my experience they try to fit me into something they DO carry that doesn't actually fit correctly.

I went to VS and it was funny. She had just gotten a big, happy reaction from earlier customers when she they found out they were bigger than they thought. I didn't really want to be measured, but she was insistent. I told her my bra size, she measured me, and said, "yep, you're right," all disappointed.
I think the other suggestions here are good ones!

Nordstrom, hands down. Their bras rock.
Victoria's Secret bras totally don't work for me. It's impossible to find a decent bra that doesn't have a ridiculous amount of push-up, AND, their bras are SO small! I am not even a huge person and they don't have a bra big enough to fit me. I think they go up to, what, 36DD? I don't feel like their bras are the best quality, either.
