I was going to suggest Zulily. I haven't had much luck in regular stores. Every once in a while I'll get lucky at a consignment sale but, that's about it. I'm sorry I couldn't help more!

@mediagirl: No worries Several boutiques around here sell them but of course they are crazy $$$. Every once in a while a resale shop will have some pieces...a few months ago I got several dresses for $2 in excellent condition.

@emg86: that's an amazing deal!! Some people don't realize how expensive smocked dresses can be!

Nope, my mom makes them! There are lots of boutiques on Etsy and Facebook, some less outrageously priced than others. Maybe try ebay?
They are extremely labor intensive when they are handmade, that's why they're so expensive.

Consignment, eBay, and etsy. You can also usually find them at Dillard's in the store, so maybe online if you're not in the south?

@coacheswife123: Thanks for telling me about Sweet Baby Tutu! They have great pricing on some pieces.
