We have zero closets in our apartment. We have a laundry "hallway" with some shelving and the vacuum goes next to the dryer, under the shelf.

Also in a bedroom closet, in our case the guest room.

Right now it's in a bedroom closet, but when I lived in a small apartment with really limited closet space, I had it in the corner of the living room, hidden behind a small loveseat. It was pretty convenient, actually,

Do you have a basement? Could you do the basement landing, or wall mount one of those big garage hooks (meant to hold a bike/stroller) and hang it? Similarly, what about the garage, either on the floor or hanging just by the door to the house?

Not ideal, but in our basement where all our storage happens to be.

What about a little cabinet like this? Is there anywhere you could put this and keep the vacuum in it (not sure if exact dimensions work but you get the gist).

Ours is in a coat closet. But I hate it there. There's too much jammed in there.

My mom lives in a small house and got one of the little dyson's you can wall mount to charge. She keeps it in the downstairs bathroom, which is also the laundry room

Ours is just right in our front entry way. We don't have a good place for it anywhere else. And the closets are all full.

A hallway linen closet. It's not huge, but it's a small enough canister that we are able to make it work.

@HappyBaker: My house sounds like yours. We took a couple of shelves out of the linen closet and store it there. It was worth it to me to move things around so that it could fit there since I didn't want it in the garage, i don't want it touching our clothes, and I didn't want it out in the open. ETA: I've considered getting a light weight vacuum that I can hang on the wall. In that case, i may put it in the garage but not totally sure.

We have a downstairs guestroom so we just put it in there. If we have guests we either move it upstairs to our room or down to the basement.
