How do you feel about the ones that have canvas shelving?

That's the one we have. It's not as nice as a full wooden one, but it's durable and is easy to move around.

Yup, I have seen ones free of canvas! I don't like the canvas ones either. Another good solution if you have the space is an Ikea expedit shelf on its side, but it doesn't display them facing forward. It still looks cute though!

@mskeee: wow, I'll have to go see if I can hunt one down. We have too much expedit in our house already - DH said no more allowed.

Hahahahaha I am under a similar restriction re: expedit. I can't help it, it's basically perfect for all things.
