It's part of the basement of our house, and the door is on the side of the house (we're built into a hillside). I love having a real garage again -- previously, we rented in a high-rise condo building and I couldn't get a spot in the garage there, so I had to get a space in one a couple blocks away (or do street parking, yuck). That really made me appreciate what we have now!

We have an attached, side garage. I grew up with a front facing attached garage.

In our dreams....we want one, but where we would have to put one, it would be detached and in our backyard, taking up a large chunk of yard. We'd rather have the yard than the garage

Growing up it was on the side and lower level below my parents' bedroom.

We don't have a garage, but we have a carport. It's attached to the side of the house. According to DH, attached garages are no longer allowed here because of the hazardous fumes from the exhaust.

Behind the house in front of the pool. It's a pool house/garage.

Behind the house. Very rare around here. It's one of the reasons I love this place. It's so much nicer to look at a house and see a big porch and a front door instead of a big honking garage!

Detached, on the side, and just behind the house. We call it the barn because we don't keep the cars in there. It's huge, though, and is used mainly for storage of everything from Christmas decorations to bikes to boats.
