I shop pretty much at Gap and more recently, I'm loving Ann Taylor Loft. It's my new go-to. Also love asos, but their shipping takes foreeeeever.

@Greentea: BCBG used to be my fave for cute going out tops and dresses. Ugh. This thread makes me realize how frumpy I am since having kids. Nothing fits right, I'm way heavier. Blagh

I have this problem too. I feel like it's a combination of luck and stores. Most of my clothes are from stitch fix, evereve (geared specifically for moms in their 20s and 30s), old navy, and LuLaRoe. I feel like even with those it's just luck if I find something I love.

I'm 35 - I shop at Jcrew, some gap, banana and started doing Stitch Fix about 6 months ago and have gotten some good pieces through that - stuff I wouldn't necessarily pick out for myself and don't have time to comb through dept. stores for.

A lot of my basics come from Target, Old Navy, JC Penney, and Gap. I also make some of my own skirts, so I'm able to tailor the patterns to fit my body better. I'd like to start sewing some of my own shirts but doing a full bust adjustment scares the crap out of me so I usually stick with t-shirts.

I'm 35 and I've been shopping more at Boden recently. When I'm in the US, I love J.Crew.

@PrincessBaby: oh man. I just looked at Jane.com and I could do some serious damage! Such cute stuff! Have you ever had to return items?

@Cole: how much, on average, would you say you spend on a typical shopping trip with a personal shopper?

@travellingbee: last time I spent $150 on three pieces. I think it usually works out between $100-$200. I sometimes buy things and take them home to try on with other things I own and then take stuff back but I have never spent more than $350.

@Cole: great. And do you go in with certain types of items in mind or just say I need a wardrobe update.

@Canoli: I had a return and it was easy. No problems at all.

@snowjewelz: This exactly! I wear the same version of things from different stores in different colors.

Target and Old Navy lately. I'm turning 36 next month. Target is great for a range of sizes. I'm on the heavier side since having LO #2. I'm wearing larger sizes right now, but by summer, will be down in weight, so I have a nice mix of sizes.

@Canoli: I have had 2 returns and it was no biggie

My husband accidentally dried one of my Kendyll shirts and I'm wearing it today, it is no
worse for the wear:). I think the quality of their stuff is pretty good for the money!

Thanks for all the ideas ladies. I actually decided to give Stitch Fix a try. I get my first shipment on February 5th. Fingers crossed.

@travellingbee: Usually, you chat with your personal shopper on the phone before your appointment. They will ask what you're looking for, sizes, colors etc. I typically point out that I am a sahm and that if I can't sit on the floor, play in the sand box and paint in it I won't buy it. Some shoppers are better than others but usually they will pull a bunch of different outfits for you and have them ready in the room. You go through and try stuff on and give them feedback as you go. It's really nice to be able to say I love this but the color looks funny on me and have them grab it in a different color or to realize you love a brand of pants and have them tell you there are a bunch of varieties. If something is out of my price range they can occasionally find a similar substitute too.

@SeptMomma12: @princessbaby: you ladies are not helping me out:) good to know thank you. Since I'm 6 months pregnant I can probably stay away for a few more months but after that I have a feeling I will be placing a big order! That shirt is just so pretty!

@Meowkers: A friend uses Le Tote, which seems like Stitch fix with some more options.

Like others, I found a personal shopper and stylist just by other recommendation. I've used her several times for cleaning out my closet, shopping, and an awesome styling session. It takes so much pressure out of shopping and finding things to wear!!
