I had an ice skating party, hay ride, and when I was in middle school I had my birthday at a hotel on the beach- my parents let me pick a few friends to stay the night and we had our room right next to theirs.
We live within walking distance to a little farm where they do parties and pony rides. Maybe LO will have a party there one day. I also love the painting pottery parties.... but it's so expensive. I feel like I can make something just as fun and cute at home.

We went to Discovery Zone when they were "big" and at the skating rink (roller skating and ice skating).

My fifth was at a farm/petting zoo, and we did a farm theme. I think that's the only one... well I guess when I was fifteen, my parents took me to see the Lipizzaner horse show.

Roller skating, Chuckie Cheese, gymnastics gym, bowling, and once when I was really nerdy we went to the Nebraska State Capital for a tour!

I didn't have many birthday parties. One was at my grandmother's a house. The rest were at home. My siblings had parties at a local pizza place.

All my parties growing up were at home. I think I had a birthday at King Arthur's.. pizza place in CA.
I haven't decided where all of LO's parties will be, but will definitely not have them all at home.

My birthday is right after Christmas so parties were usually at home. However, we did have a couple of "half-birthday" parties in June so we could do outside things: roller skating, horseback riding, pool party at my grandparents' house.

i had a lot of at the house pool parties (August baby) but i do remember a bowling party, going to the movies, going to a chocolate shop (we dipped pretzels, marshmallows, made molds). My lil brother had one of his birthdays at the MCDonalds with a huge play place.

They were usually at home. My friends had parties at Celebration Station which is kind of like Chuck e Cheese

My earliest away-from-home birthday party that I can remember was at a roller skating rink. It was awesome. We have home video of my dad doing the hokey pokey with me in the rink; it's amazing.

@sulli301: my parents took the 1/2 birthday thing to the extreme, I got 1/2 of a birthday card, 1/2 of a pair of socks, etc. It was a lot of fun
